Claudio Ranieri who is on the verge of making history at Leicester, recalls his time at Inter in an Interview by La Repubblica. Not failing to remove the pebbles from his shoes, he says: “We started very well and you can give me that: seven consecutive victories and you think of great things, but in the meantime I sold Philippe Coutinho and Thiago Motta and in the end the culprit was Ranieri, but I can say that I was the only coach in Inter’s history to only have sold players, and bought none. And I finish: I go to Monaco in France, win the league and then coe second with 80 points, behind the PSG of the Sheikhs. According to them I’ve had a bad career? Hardly. They say: Ranieri has won little. But can we talk about the conditions that certain Italian teams that I took were in? And those who came after me, did they do better than me? I think not.”
