Javier Zanetti opened up on his role with the nerazzurri while at Il Giorno headquarters today: “When I spoke to Moratti and Thohir I had decided to retire. Moratti knew me for 20 years, Thohir was knowing me. I hope both are satisfied by my work, I started a new life. After 23 years on the pitch it’s not easy to study. I bring Inter colours in my heart and I try to be available for my club. I think that Thohir appreciated my attitude, this is why he offered to me a permanent contract, another testimony of confidence in me. I hope I can still contribute to the continuity of this bond. Now I have three Italian children, I’m nerazzurro from the first day I was at Pinetina and Inter is in my heart, so I really want to be helpful for my club. My role is large, not only related to the sport. Everyone thinks that after 23 years you can do just that. But I started to study to do even more, to bring Inter name all around the world and abroad I find a lot of fans. In these situations I understand what I represent and what I did”.
