Genoa today completed the permanent purchase of Diego Laxalt for a fee of 2.3 million euro, in accordance to the agreement made with Inter when he was loaned to the Luigi Ferraris.
Vincenzo D’Ippolito, the Uruguyan’s agent, confirmed the transfer in an interview with TMW:
“Genoa completed the purchase, the guy is very happy even because was called by the Uruguayan National team. Genoa are currently in talk with other clubs that showed their interest in the player, but the idea is to allow him to improve more. Fiorentina is a real option, last January they asked for him but Preziosi rejected the bid. Now let’s see what’s going to happen in the summer. Laxalt is happy at Genoa, he played a great season and would stay even without Gasperini. But now he’s focused on the Copa America.”

they have enough quality to compete at least, but most of the top South American national teams seem to struggle in the midfield department, especially with depth
