Despite beliefs that Eder‘s lacklustre season would cost him his chances of representing his adopted nation, Italy at the European Championship’s, Antonio Conte has included Inter’s January acquisition in his 23 man squad to take to France alongside four other forwards, Ciro Immobile, Simone Zaza, Lorenzo Insigne and Graziano Pelle. Eder is Inter’s only representative in the Azzurri side.
though i am glad to see an inter player get called up to the national team, Eder has no business being a part of the team. But it just shows how bad the quality is right now for Italy. They might not even make it out of their group. we’ll see.
Italy’s lack of forwards this year is depressing. Pele and Zaza don’t have the class to even be in the team, Immobile is a giant flop, Insigne is amazing but he’s not a classical striker. I really hope Eder breaks his bad form and plays like he used to in Samp.
