Sky Sport journalist Matteo Marani gave his thoughts on the SCG groups expected purchase of Inter and his thoughts on Massimo Moratti’s impending exit from Inter: “I’m surprised that for the first time Inter will not have an Italian owner in its club. Moratti’s exit from the club sets up this scenario. An era will end, which did not start in 1995, but in 1955, when Angelo Moratti bought Inter. 60 years have passed, and even during the period in which the Moratti were not in control of Inter (1968 – 1995), it was like as if Inter was always theirs.”

He carried on, “Time ago, before Massimo became President, he spoke to me and told me how the family never abondons the team. Inter is a Moratti family thing. This is a historical, sentimental and affectionate end in Italian football, who must now face a new era, a new beginning, something which was until now unknown.”
