Once touted as the ‘new Maicon’ and tracked by Inter for many months, it seems Mayke’s career could be set to continue in Portugal. Daily newspaper O Jogo today confirmed that the Cruzeiro right back’s entourage have been in negotiations with Sporting Clube de Portugal over a potential move this summer. The Brazilian side are said to be demanding between 4-5million euros before releasing the player. Interestingly, should the 23-year-old complete the move to Lisbon, he would compete for a place in the starting XI with former Inter wing back Ezequiel Schelotto.

Supposedly Schelotto has been much better serving as a RB at Sporting. From what I’ve read his pace and work rate seem to be his best attributes.
