Yaya Touré’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, spoke to Corriere hello Sport about the situation regarding the Ivorian.
“At the moment I’m negotiating another deal, but I hope that in two weeks there are news over Yaya. I’ll meet City to understand their intentions, but it’s soon to speak about a free transfer.
“Everyone knows what a such relationship there’s between Yaya and Mancini, I know that Inter changed recently their ownership and it needs a few days to re-organize the club.
“Yaya is quiet and relaxing, he’s a great player making the difference everywhere. Now he has one yar contract remaining with City, let’s see what’s going to happen.”

I hope this love affair costs Mancini his job. I’d like to be optimistic and say that the slower pace of Serie A and Mancini’s guidance will help Yaya turn his game around, but I just don’t see it happening. It’s one thing if a player is struggling because they’re declining physically, which Yaya is, but you couple that with a lack of determination and effort, you end up with an expensive retiree. I think Mancini has the idea in his head that because he helped Yaya change his game when he first came to City that he can do it again at Inter, but is completely disregarding the fact that he’s dealing with two completely different versions of Yaya Toure. The Yaya Toure he had at City was the poster boy for a box to box midfielder, he had no significant weaknesses physically or technically, and produced on both sides of the ball. The Yaya Toure he wants to bring to Inter is as previously stated declining physically, particularly his speed and stamina (both essential for a box to box midfielder), seems to have forgotten how to defend despite playing as a CDM/CB for part of his career (which is surprising considering how much emphasis Mancini puts on the whole team working to defend) and last, but certainly not least, his attitude is complete and utter shit (his complaint about not receiving a birthday gift from City, complaints about not receiving the African Player of the Year award, etc). I predict he will not only be a problem on the field, but off it as well. Mancini keeps claiming we need a player like Yaya around because he has a “champion’s attitude”, but if you’ve watched him play recently he couldn’t be anything further from..
I agree.. current yaya toure has no motivation, lazy, and declining.. he was past his prime and he has nothing to prove anymore because he already win it at man city
Why did we bother signing Kondogbia if we’re just gonna end up buying Yaya anyway? Waste of money for both Kondogbia’s transfer fee and soon to be Toure’s wages, Mancini was at one point an excellent team builder, but now it seems he is too stuck in the past.
