Football Soccer - Croatia v Israel - International friendly match

Inter’s Croatian duo Marcelo Brozović and Ivan Perišić got their country’s Euro 2016 campaign off to a winning start earlier today with a 1-0 triumph versus Turkey. The game was ultimately decided by a wonderstrike by Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modrić.

Brozović, whilst poor in the first half, played excellently after the break with his side looking dangerous on the counter-attack due to Turkey pushing hard for an equaliser. Perišić meanwhile was outstanding throughout, providing a constant threat and created many dangerous attacking moves on the left side. He put in a fine shift defensively too and left the field to a standing ovation from Croatian fans.

One notable name on the Turkish teamsheet was that of new Inter signing Caner Erkin, who arrives on a free transfer from Fenerbahçe. He played a physically strong match, however his crossing and attacking play was not up to standard today.
