João Mário

Inter and Juventus have both been linked with a move for Sporting CP midfielder João Mário. There are a host of clubs across Europe credited with an interest in signing the 23-year-old Portuguese international, including Manchester Utd and Liverpool. His contract contains a 60m release clause which club President Bruno de Carvalho has previously insisted must be paid in full for him to consider selling. João Mário was frequently deployed on the right of midfield by Jorge Jesus last season, though it is thought his long-term future lies in the centre of the pitch. Could we be about to see a Derby d’Italia specifically in the race to sign one of Portuguese football’s brightest talents?
