'Che Tempo Che Fa' TV Show - May 25th 2014

Inter vice president Javier Zanetti was recently interviewed by Argentine news outlet “HOY”, where he spoke about the recent situation that the Argentine federation is facing.

“It is a shame that Martino had to go. I really appreciate what they did as a group and the value they have added to the National Team”

He was asked if he thinks Diego Simeone as the ideal candidate to replace Tata Martino. Zanetti answered in his old style:

“He has all the qualities that an Argentine manager should have. But I don’t think it is the right time for him now to takeover as Argentina’s manager. Not because of the recent events that are happening but for him and his career it will be better if he continues at where he is now”

Hearing that the next question to Pupi was an obvious one. Zanetti was asked if he was saying this considering the future of Inter. Where he replied before signing off: “No. We have a contract and a project ongoing under Roberto Mancini, who is our current coach”
