To say that it’s been turbulent around Mauro Icardi these past few days would be an understatement to say the least. The Inter skipper however seems to take it all in his stride when talking about the issue in an exclusive interview with Corriere dello Sport.

“I’m here and I feel good here. I have a contract with Inter until 2019, my team. The rest is up to the club to talk about. The objective of the whole family is to stay in Milano, I have never hidden the fact that I am happy in this city and the same goes for Wanda and the children. Milano is our home. This is why she is talking to the club: our will is to find a solution. I am a professional and I am acting as one too, the rumors don’t create problems for me. The rumors don’t interest me and I don’t give much weight to what is being said or written in the press. Everyone knows what I want: I am happy to stay at Inter.”

Icardi then spoke about the pride he feels of being Inter’s captain: “I’ll tell you the truth, I am an Interista, very much so. This is the team I support and these are my colors. There is a strong bond. Football is a business and everything can happen but I am wearing the captain’s armband at Inter, I’ve been here for three years and my objective is to win with Inter. I want to succeed. The captains armband means a lot to me. It does not weigh me down much because the responsibilities inside the dressing room is divided amongst everyone, but to wear it on your arm is a great honor.”

In conclusion Icardi talked a little bit about Inter’s new signings Ansaldi and Banega: “Banega is a player with immense class. He’ll help us no end. I’ve always thought Ansaldi was a fantastic full-back and now that I know him I can say that he’s a great professional. How good is Wanda doing as my agent? I give her a 10 on a scale of 1-10.”
