Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis spoke exclusively with Corriere dello Sport in an interview published in the paper edition of Rome-based newspaper.

De Laurentiis was asked if Mauro Icardi is the dream player to replace the departed Gonzalo Higuain to which the Napoli President replied: “We would like this very much, as is clear for everyone. I don’t like to enter into a discourse regarding things that should be kept private, at least as much as it is possible to keep these things private. The press have their role, and so they investigate, discover and publish things which is all fine by me. I don’t think it would be very elegant or classy of me to reveal certain private aspects of how things stand. However, the fact that Icardi is an extraordinary striker is something that his statistics reveal, we had practically signed him before he went to Inter. Some lovestories don’t end, evidently.”
