If it has to be an italian and it cant be Berrardi, then Saponara would be the better fit anyways. Bernadeshi i would stay far away from.
Not very knowledgeable of Bernardeschi, but if Wiki is anything to go by then he seems like a good alternative to Gabigol and could be a backup to Candreva, Perisic and potentially others:

Darmian does NOT want to leave Man Utd, he wants to prove himself there. He has champion’s mentality and doesn’t want to exit like a loser [just like Bastian Schweinsteiger]
Actually, I wasn’t referring to Ansaldi. He’s excellent and should be our first choice LB. Erkin on the other hand doesn’t seem to be good enough. One RB (Bruno Peres or Darmian both at 20 mil ) and one holding midfielder, and we’re set for the season ahead!
I think we already surplus in those area, If we had money better spent on high quality RB

Inter can knock on any door if the player is good and has potential for future which by the way Bernardeschi has it all it doesn’t add to Inter who is the club they do business with we never followed such an advertising and spot light steeling attempt back in time so why should we follow it now Candreva is from lazio and he is better than any Italian we can get from the clubs you want Inter to do business with
We do real business as the team needs others do business because they fear Inter comeback thats why they are buying every player in the market its like they buying all the woods while Inter has the lighter… No man we are puting up big fire next season to do the business to both the clubs you like to do business with
wait, I never said I like Inter to do business with rube or bilan, I was just stating there is a better chance of doing “good” business with them than with Fiorentina,Lazio and Napoli.. these 3 are greedy in their dealings, add to that Fiorentina’s Della Valle would be prepared to sell to rubentus and not to Inter..especially after last summer’s Salah transfer saga
