Why I’m equally pissed that we lost so scandalously, but in hindsight, there’s nothing wrong in losing a pre-season game by a 6-1 scoreline. Between, the PL starts in a week and Tottenham are far ahead of us in match & physical conditioning, fitness levels and what have you.
Clearly, RM and the players are playing to avoid any senseless injuries at this crucial stage of the season considering that a few of our prospective starters and new recruits have yet to bed in. Having said that, we’ll need the remaining opportunity window left before the league tart to shape and gel the team.
I’d only press the panic button if after 5 games into the new season we suck, for whatever strange reason, and have dropped valuable points; but right no I’m unfazed by the outcome of this meaningless game.
More so, we have avoided injuries up until now and we still managed to finish this game without any injury casualty as well so I’m pleased.
Anyone remembers last year? We lost every single one of our pre-season games too, but went on to lead Serie A till January 6th when it became apparent that couldn’t proceed any further without a midfield general/organizer to take our game to the next level.
On a positive note, the 1st half gives room for optimism. And anyone calling for the sale of Icardi and the removal of RM because of the outcome of this match. knows nothing about football.
