Rumours have circled around social media today stating that Joao Mario hasn’t trained and that he is on the verge of joining Inter but Sporting Lisbon have came out and attempted to put a stop to them: “Joao Mario is a Sporting player! Today he trained and he’s available for tomorrow’s game against Maritimo, the first one in the league in which we are ambitious. On social networks there are ongoing unchecked rumours, but it’s useless if you try to guess the future. Only Sporting’s president can say the truth over this situation.”

In the winter, Suning will buy Melo, Dodo, Santon for 50 million euros LOL
In the next summer, Crapnocchia, Nagashit, Eder will be bought for 100 million xD
That’s how we balance our books. Hopefully.
I agree with you, so no problem with ffp thing.
DiMarzio just reported that a deal is close as Sporting are ready to accept our offer for him. Get him + Gabigol, blow up the market. Combined with Candreva and Banega (and DeBoer) our team will get upgrades in almost every position.
Hopefully Ansaldi and Erkin are really upgrades in the fullbacks position. I’m doubtful so far, but I hope they prove me wrong.
Joa mario will be a inter milan player 3or4 days its already agreed and finalized just like candreva was always signing with inter its the media who kept changing the news so yes 100% done deal
Joa mario is a angolo kante type player in terms of non stop running and covering the field he is a non stop worker a machine and I much rather have him than lazy oscar who if things a not going inter way oscar would likely get frustrated and become a statue joa mario is worth every bit of 40mill and he will be worth 70 mill after a season at inter because somone who has great work ethic and never gives up is a priceless commodity
According to some interista, he lacks that flashy technique, they dont care if joao really good defensively and attacking, never stop running, creativity and football vision and passing is really good, all that matters is flashy technique
He’s great technically too!
Still not flashy
Still not worth 40..
I have to tried to pay attention to him in the euro final and I really liked his ability to keep the ball under pressure from opposing players
Yes me too, he’s strong, technically superb and has great vision and passing skills! Just a great midfielder in the making if you as me! And him Kondogbia and Banega behind them could do great things!
If all some fans are worried about is flashy techniques than obviously they don’t understand football is a team game that consists of running passing and a good team work and balance flashy players belong in dribbling comps lol I mean most really flashy players are ball hogs and individual show offs
Yeah, i like him, for me he is far more complete and better than renato sanches, if jorge jesus wanted to coach sporting if he stays, i believe he is very talented, and this man only play for a team, he thinks how to make the team win, thats why people see him as average because he never show kind of flashy individual skills
it all depends, a player can be flashy and play really good like Neymar… but remember our team does not have a player that creates difference, only Jojo and this happens only once in a while— we need a really skill player in our team, that’s why Oscar is so attractive–
Very good football IQ too. He makes the right desicions with the ball at the right time.
What are you on about. Oscar is one of the most hardworking attacking mid there is. His rate of successful tackle is also one of the highest among midfielders in the league. That’s why Mourinho preferred him to Mata. These are to no relation to who I think we should buy though.
I don’t understand when did Joao Mario became central midfielder since (as I’m aware) he played his entire career as right wing? Does playing some matches in Euro champ as central midfielder (because team’s formation doesn’t contain wings) makes player a central midfielder?
he can play anywhere and is very good at it also, his energy and stamina to track back makes him an excellent cm
If we’re gonna play 4-1-2-3 with Banega as a regista – which he knows how to do and I think he would be brilliant in, then the J.Mario deal makes sense (imagin Kondog and Mario as our two central midfielders with Mario as our “second”playmaker with Banega behind them as our “Pirlo” and as our “primary” playmaker)!
Anseldi say yesterday at the press conference that De Boer wants the team to play much defenrenty to Mancini with high pressure when we lose the ball, recovery and quick counter attacking (I guess like they do it mostly in Germany), and in that system I don’t see Banega in a “lazy” number 10 role with 2defensive destroyers behind him to do all the pressure – but with him as our Pirlo, Kondogbia as our Vidal/Pogba and with Joao Mario as our 2 playmaker a la Marchisio, I decently se us do great in midfield.
The players that doesn’t fit into this high pressure game play are; Gnoukouri, Melo, and Medel – Brosso should do just fine in this system though!
Based on the latest news I see Joao Mario price ranging from 35-50 mill which I don’t think it’s reasonable for inter to gamble that much on something that might not even work within the system. De boer didn’t even had enough time to settle and get at least one game to determine what sorta player might be needed for this team.
Joao Mario was a club target before De Boer even arrived. So it’s not like he suggested the transfer-he probably just said he likes the idea so inter are still trying.
That all said I fail to see how we can afford Mario in addition to Candreva without selling someone like Brozo.
In theory it could be that De Boer recognises quality defenders are priced outrageously this summer so wants a midfielder who will enable him to drop Medel into defence.
It gets confusing at some point on whether it was a club target or Mancinis, but I agree since they are still pursuing him its clubs target.
No confusion. Maybe some journalists haven’t been clear. Kia Joorabchian (the man behind the Tevez/Mascherano moves to West Ham years back and one of the leading figures in 3rd party ownership) is Mario’s agent. And he’s an intermediary for Suning. And he’s De Boer’s agent. See where this is going? It’s like the Mourinho/Mendes connection. Kia’s clients will land at Inter sooner or later in Suning’s ownership
So true..
The Candreva fee is spread out over 4 years, we only paid 5.5m this summer, Mario deal is 10m upfront and 35m next year when we are not under FFP
“Next year when we are not under FFP”. First I’ve heard of that. Could you explain?
We made a three year deal in 2013 with UEFA, it ends after this year
we, and every other club team in europe will always be “under FFP” – the 3-year terms are about to end this year
Its normal that Inter target Joa Mario and any coach would like to use him as he shined with Portugal in Euro16
2 things; DE Boer wants the player Mancini, who wanted to play Banega as an attacking mid and not a regista, didn’t.
About his price; yes it’s very high BUT he is 23 years old and has already won the Eruos with his country and he played every single game for them, plus a total of 45-50 mil for a player you can have for around 10 years isn’t that much ( divide 45 with 10 and you get his yearly costs).
If de boer doesn’t have the time to settle and bring his own players then why didn’t inter bring him in sooner and if inter shouldn’t buy expensive players cuz de boer doesn’t know the squad then why did inter fire mancini?
Yes I agree
