Brozovic has some value, thats why he is being sold. Keeping Brozovic also requires giving him a new contract and about doubling his salary.
But with Banega and probably Joao Mario, Brozovic will see limited playing anyways, so it makes sense to sell him instead of keeping him, giving him a new contract and having him primarily on the bench, which the player probably wont like anyways.

I will explain to you the reasoning behind it…..with 1 year left in his contract it was rumored that he would go to Juventus on a free transfer so that he can play for his ex-coach Conte and his ex-partner Bonucci who played together long ago with Bari. The fear that Juve could turn Ranocchia into a star while he flopped at Inter and the potential of Juve being able to sell him at a profit was too embarrassing for Inter brass to take a chance of happening so in order to prevent any possibility of that happening they signed him long-term AND made him the captain to boot ! so how did that work out for you guys ?
