Speaking to La Gazzetta del Sport, Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic said that the preseason tour that the team took in the United States during the summer was not exactly the best preparation for the start of the season, following a loss to Chievo Verona during the weekend.
‘”We took part in a tour where we had only half of our squad and there was little time between games and traveling to do any actual training.”
With the sacking of Roberto Mancini and replacement in Frank de Boer, it makes sense that the timing for the players has become a bit difficult to get accustomed to.
“I think every coach needs at least three months of work to be able to transmit their own ideas.”, he said.

I think this prob due to Mancini behavior. We got too much drama in this summer.
yep.. i agree.. theres no use for us to go there
Exactly!
So true.
Meanwhile in rome..
Yeah we got third place for Champions League.. Eh we messed up..
Shame!
when do they not mess up?, sad part is Napoli will do even worst than them, and they gave rube extra 13m for not qualifying , so we see that rube was so smart to buy pjanic from them and weaken them, they already made 13m back
The only part where this US preseason helped was financial and brand recognition. I think we got about €2-3m per match. Otherwise it was a disaster.
2-3M per match? I don’t think so.
i find that hard to believe aswell
It is true. About €1.3m per match for smaller teams, up to €3m for bigger teams. You have to understand that International Champions Cup is the biggest preseason event in countries like USA or Australia where they can’t normally go and see their team play. It’s mostly sold out stadiums with TONS of sponsors and highly contested TV rights. 2 years ago, when Manchester United was playing Real Madrid in USA, they sold 110.000 tickets. Let’s say the average ticket costs 60$(yes, thats how expensive they are), that is $6.6m from tickets in one match alone. Add to that sponsors, TV rights etc etc…
Not that crazy anymore, is it?
its more like brand depreciation, cause we humilated ourselves
^^THIS^^
To me it was just a total disaster… I hope this is the last time we take part in this crap waste of time tournament. What kind of brand recognition do we get when side are nailing our ass to the wall by 4 -5 goals… Not any recognition I want.. Then while you’re taking part in this ‘bashing’ you have key players like Banega etc.. training alone in Milan.
