According to Sky Sports Inter are looking for a mix of young and experienced players. Besides Icardi and the other young players already present in the Nerazzurri’s roster, the Milan based club are also after others like Joao Mario or Gabigol, while always keeping in mind the financial parameters that need to be respected and the players that need to leave. Inter from here and until the end of the market will try to take one or two more shots, even if it will not be easy seeing as the name which can unlock the Nerazzurro market is that of Marcelo Brozovic. With the Croatian trying for a renewal, the club have proposed 2,2 million a year to the player, which is still not deemed as enough and with the number of requests for the player coming from English clubs the negotiations may break down.

Sure they should, but there is just no way its going to happen. I think what you need to realise is the massive difference between 1. Inter offering a player to clubs for a price and 2. a club asking Inter for a player.
When Inter offer a player, who arent really in demand or is seriously wanted by another other club. Then Inter isnt in a position to negotiate a favourable price. If some EPL club where deadset on buying Brozovic, then Inter would in the driving seat to negotiate a favourable price, but thats just not reality.
And im not saying brozovic should be sold for peanuts. The point of my initial post was that the club (and some fans here) are being unrealistic about the fee’s that can realistically be brought in from the player Inter wants to sell, considering that they are not in demand.
Inter wants to sell players who arent in demand = the asking price must be in favour of the buyer or else no one is going to bite.
Im not saying it isnt relevant because of that game, im saying it isnt relevant period. Its not like Croatia is Germany where they have tons of high quality midfielders lined up and competing for the NT spots. Being called up to the NT alone, is no indication about the quality of the player. What matters here is the quality of the NT and the competition for the spot at the NT.
Its farfetched when Inter are the ones offering the player. Its not like there is a bidding war going for him with Inter being reluctant to sell, quite the opposite.
There is no genuine interest in brozovic, that much is clear. Some teams might be willing to pick him up if the price is favourable for them, but 25m definitely isnt. Inter lowered their asking price from 35 to 25 a few weeks ago and there have been 0 offers….
Also starting in the national team is a largely irrelevant factor. As far as the euros goes, Croatia played their best game of the cup vs spain, where Brozovic was on the bench the entire time…
I wouldnt be surprised if the team stays as it is now tbh. Its clear that Inter needs to sell before they can buy anyone.
There is no serious interest for either Brozovic or Jovetic, who Inter wants to sell. Offering players that are not in demand = price needs to be lowered significantly and Inter doesnt want to do this.
Its hilarious how Inter thinks they can offer Brozovic and Jovetic to clubs and still demand high transfer fee’s when there are no clubs who are seriously interested in them. This means that other clubs will only want to buy them if the deal is heavily in favour of them.
Its always the asking party who are in the passenger seat when making deals, regardless if they are asking another club to sell or buy.
What do Inter seriously expect when they go around offering brozovic for 25-30m to clubs? He is not in demand or a high priority for any clubs, some random media interest but no offers… Inter apparently thinks they can dictate the sales price when they are basically pushing for sales with only some remote interest from a few clubs.
