Zenit’s Axel Witsel has been linked with a host of clubs throughout this summer transfer window. The Belgian international’s contract with Zenit expires next year, and La Gazzetta Dello Sport are reporting that Inter want Witsel if they cannot sign Joao Mario. The problem is that the player wants to join Juventus, so Inter will have to negotiate with the player in order to change his mind.

mm, I don’t know about that, you cant judge sissoko which was a monster at euros and made pogba look like a 15m player based on those performances only, I don’t watch pl but pl people told me that he is not that good, but I have watched witsel many times for Belgium and he is a beast
Witsel would be a pretty good signing i think.
He is in his prime and reads the game quite well. He is also defensively far superior to Brozovic (and JM for that matter). He can play as a non-traditional DM and still offer quite alot going forward.

Closer to 15m, but I get your point that he’s a lot more money. Given the choice I’d spend the money elsewhere, but between the two I’d rather spend extra on JM.

That’s Sporting’s valuation, Inter want to pay 40m plus 5m bonus. Witsel is valued at about 35m, and could also be had for free next summer.
Is he better than sissoko?
Joao Mario and Witsel are both better than Sissoko. Sissoko is essentially a worse version of Guarin with more speed.
