To be fair, mazzari had some experience handling shitty teams, while mancini has absolutely none. His (Mazzari’s) conservative approach ultimately became his downfall. Were he to continue manage us to this day even with 100+ million upgrade, I think we will still play the same ol’ witless football.

Icardi plays best when we has another striker beside him, preferably Palacio (they have good understanding), but also Eder or Jojo or later even Gabigol. Icardi is too isolated right now. You might say we already tried 3-5-2 and lost but we would have lost anyways cause we were in completely shitty level of fitness plus it’s huge difference to having Medel-Miranda-Murillo at the back instead of D’Ambrosio-Ranocchia-Miranda. Candreva already plays this system in national team and is used to it. Banega in Pirlo role and 2 box-to-box mids. And we keep D’ambrosio, Ranocchia and Nagatomo were they cant hurt us (in the bench).

Unfortunately, I’ve been watching all of their games this year, at both national and club levels. They’re just average at defending, so easily to get counter-attacked. And as far as I know, their best natural positions are attacking wingers, not fullbacks yet. Moreover, putting them as defensive fullbacks in 3-5-2 it’s just like driving a Ferrari at off-road. Oh gosh, it’s so desperate to even think about putting Candreva and Perisic as fullbacks. Santon, Dumbrosio, Nagatits really killed my appetites of watching live match.
Unfortunately Inter too often depends on the defensive midfielders and defenders to recover and play the ball. That leaves too many players watching the game. It is truly going to take time for the team to develop a better attitude. But it is possible to change with Deboer and the new signings. Let’s watch what happens today.

You can’t play with only three defensive players in the squad, even against lower table teams! You need balance in Serie A or they will punish you! This is not FIFA! You can take risk with 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 in a few certain games, but for good results trough whole season you need balance in the both phases attack and defense!
