Sporting Lisbon’s president Bruno De Carvalho hopes that Joao Mario will make a return to Lisbon one day.

He stated: “Sooner or later he will return to Sporting, it’s the club he loves, trained him –  it was a fast-paced market, but we are pleased to have concluded these two important outbound operations, the best of Sporting history. Profits? A portion of the tag of Slimani belonged to an agency, whereas for Joao Mario a percentage of the sale was destined to another fund.”
