Inter are looking to improve their defensive line for the upcoming season. Victor Lindelof is the name that appears to be on Inter’s wish list. The Nerazzurri have already enquired about the player last July, the Swedish defender was the alternative to Garay, who has managed to sign with Valencia this season. The problem was that Benfica kept requesting 30 million euros, which at the moment seemed too high and risky.

Now, Inter are scouting the 22 year old because they want to have a better idea on whether or not they should invest in him next summer. Miranda turns 33 next year and with his contract coming to an end (Expires 2018), Inter will try to secure a good replacement if talks about a renewal with the Brazilian break down. The Nerazzurri will still pursue the centre back even if Miranda remains, as he is a good backup.

The only problem Inter face is that Benfica’s president would prefer renewing Lindelof’s contract till 2021 while adding a higher release clause to the new contract. This would complicate things for Inter.
