Mauro Icardi: “My job is to score goals and help the team win”

Immediately after the final whistle, Mauro Icardi did not hesitate to comment on Inter’s performance with Sky Sports:

“I always say, my job is to score goals and help the team win. This game was very important, we did not have much time to recover from Sunday. We knew Empoli are tough and to score two goals in the beginning made them lose moral in our favor. My position? I said, I really like to play as a lone striker behind quality players, not just those who played today. For me it is a major help because I’m in open often. We are at the beginning, we must continue to work well. Now Sunday is another game, we are happy but our head is already at the next match.”
