Gabigol has officially been unveiled at the Auditorium Pirelli.
Marco Tronchetti, Pirelli CEO got the presentation underway saying “We have the opportunity about 20 years later, as Pirelli, to present a Brazilian player. Gabriel needs to only play the way he knows how to, we won’t put pressure on him [laughs]. I’m happy because I can see our Juventus supporting employees and partners and this makes me happy. Maybe if it had happened on Monday the atmosphere would have been different.”
The first words from Gabigol followed soon after “I’m very happy, it’s a special day, I’m glad to be part of the history of the company. I thank everyone, including my family, forza Inter.”
Piero Ausilio then weighed in on things, “I want to recall last year’s promise to Doctor Tronchetti. He was asking us to explain the new ideas about Inter’s FFP situation, he wanted a dream. He told me to make a good team but above all find a player that represented the dreams of the new Inter. I think we have this chance with Gabriel, has talent and humility. This was the dream of others, but he wanted to thank Inter and Suning have made this dream a reality.”
Gabigol was back on the mic and answered a series of questions:
Today, Ronaldo is 40 years old, is there something that binds you to him? Helped you choose?
“I’m very happy, it’s a special day. I do not like comparisons, I am Gabriel Barbosa. Inter are a great team, I’m happy and I want to make history of the company.”
These months you will need to settle in, or do you want to be a player now?
“Inter had always been my first option despite other offers, the team and technical staff convinced me about the project. What matters to me is to give a hand and help my teammates to win in all competitions. ”
Who do you’ll be close to in Milan? Will you follow your own programme?
“I have my family and my friends, but it is a major change. I need my time, I have a physiotherapist who follows me. I’m young and I have to be careful, Inter gave me the time to rest, I am fit and very focused on the future.”
In the team that won the treble there were Brazilian players. You want to be the next? What can this team win?
“This is a different era, those were great players and they gave everything on the pitch. That’s what I want to do, to play to the maximum. But the team has many good players like Miranda and Felipe Melo, I am one of them.”
Can you tell us what position you like to play and if you talked with some Brazilians about Inter?
“Coutinho raved about Inter to me and I am pleased that Ronaldo has wished me good luck. I can play where the coach wants, I want to help the team and look forward to my debut.”
Has De Boer already explained to you where he wants you to play?
“I had the first contact by phone, it was an important conversation. The team is playing well, what counts is not where I can play but where I can continue to play well.”
A few weeks ago you said that you rejected an offer from a Chinese club, now you’re at Inter do you view it as a springboard? What do you promise to the fans?
“I had a very rich offer but now I’m at a great team. I was impressed by the fans, I promise to work hard and bring a lot of motivation, it is important that the fans always support us.”
Your first impression of Italy with an opinion on our league?
“Very good impression, many differences from the Brazilian championship. There are so many good teams but we are a great team, we trained the most difficult games.”
At what level are you at physically? Are you ready for the Bologna?
“I trained a lot, I had a rest and I feel ready for the game.”
Have you talked to Icardi? Will you be a good strike partner for him?
“Inter not only have Icardi, but so many great strikers. Icardi, I’ve always followed from outside, he always scores. What matters is to make a great contribution to the team.”
When did you first hear about Inter’s interest? Who were the other competitors?
“Inter has always been my first option also for the affection of the fans through social media. I had international offers but with respect for everyone I came to the biggest club in Italy and I’m happy with the choice I made.”
How far can Inter go this year?
“Winning is what matters, Inter have a great team, a great coach and a great project.”
Has anybody given you a special welcome?
“Everyone was nice to me, they made me feel at home. I’m glad about the welcome and look forward to playing with my teammates.”

“But the team has many good players like Miranda and FELIPE MELO?”
Hope this decision making doesn’t reflect on the field… Lol.

Social media? You see we made a difference. Biggest Club in Italy ? Hahaha Fuck Rube and Bilan.
So much media buzz for one player. Hope that he will live up to the expectations.

I actually remember moratti saying he sold coutinho so he could get playing time at liverpool.
“The deal for Coutinho to Liverpool is an opportunity both for Inter and both for the player,” he told Sky Italia.
“We could be happy with the economic proposal and Coutinho could find the space he hasn’t here. And then we’ll have the opportunity to reinforce the team.”
Shortly after, we bought kovabitch for the same money we sold coutinho. Then sold him for 3x coutinho price. In the end we got 30 million for coutinho(kovacic) in my eyes.
So no coutinho would say nothing bad and people need to stop complaining about us losing on coutinho. Countless teams lose out on players lol you cant predict the future more than you can predict an injury
the stupid way lose a player is the way ManU lost Pogba to Jube and then buying him back with an astronomical free.. but Coutinho case.. you said it best even though I really wanted him to stay.. but at least we didn’t let him go for free
Nice point of view amigo
Coutinho has always shown us love. Never said anything suspect about us, still love that guy.
coutinho..hiikks 🙁

Peculiar interview. He needs to get better at deciding which questions to dodge and which ones to answer.
When asked how far Inter can go this year, no reason not to give a real answer. You can give the crowd-pleasing answer (“we can win the league!”), or the safe answer (“this team is capable of a top-3 / champions league qualifying finish”). No real reason to punt with “winning is what matters.” It’s not like people are going to hold you to your answer if you say top 3 and we get 5th; that’s just showing you believe in your team.
On the other hand, he volunteered that “Inter are the biggest club in Italy” and “Coutinho raved about Inter.” Why is he volunteering statements that are clearly false? It hurts to say it but everyone is chasing Juve until they stumble… and Cou? Come on. I bet my house that Cou has little-to-nothing nice to say about Inter behind closed doors. Why would he? We couldn’t possibly have marginalized the guy more.
He’s only 20 and he isn’t media trained like most other players in Europe. If anything he was being sincere and it’s refreshing to see from a professional athlete.
lol in south america we are the biggest club (Most popular and most loved) and that is a fact.
And cou has never said anything bad about us ever when asked. Unlike kova (Who mostly hated on mancini) but its not hard to believe coutinho said that.
So like you said why would he voluntarily provide false information he wasn’t asked about….maybe its not false lol thats the only other reasonable explanation, unless your calling him a pathological liar lol
good job, nice said, this guy is shady but lets see, hopefully I’m dead wrong
you are judging his interview as if he was our captain.. that’s a bit harsh.. he is still young and standing in front of Italian Media is a skill that he will acquire soon.. this is all part of adapting at Inter (on and off the pitch)
Could you gave us reference where we could read false statement[s] from Coutinho to us?
Glad that he’s putting his teammates and team in front of himself. That shows humility. I also like the fact that he doesn’t care where we plays as long as it will help the team win and to play well.
Also thumbs up for Coutinho giving props to Inter. I would have thought he’d shit on the team since they bailed on them (fuck you Branca), this kid is a rough gem and will need some time getting used to Serie A (or he’ll explode right away with epic form), but I’m not worried. Still young, he can make mistakes unlike Dumbo/NagaShito/Frog.
don’t believe what you read,
he doesn’t think inter is bigger than rube,
he did not have inter as his main choice , he came to us because we offered more money to him and his family than anyone else,
it was not branca’s decision to sell cou, it was morrati’s,
don’t think cou will say anything good about us
Did you watch the press conference? He literally said Coutinho said good things about Inter. Why would he lie about that? I feel like a lot of you are reading way too much into this. He signed for Inter and that’s all that matters.
ok lets just make it short and simple do you believe he really likes Inter or he came here because we offered him more money and wages than any?
He’s brazilian, and we are Inter, of course he likes inter. And what brazilians are ever choosing Juve over inter? When we can afford it we are always among first choices for players from brazil & Argentina.
Doesnt mean he didnt choose us because of the money but they two are not contradictive of eachother
He came because he likes Inter. If he was looking to go to the club that offered him the most money then he would’ve went to China since they offered him an astronomical wage.
talking about in Europe, we were offering the most
C’mon just stop it dude. It’s just a matter of choosing the best possible option for his own interest and family purpose (money is always welcomed). It’s just like choosing one of two girls who crazy about you. The first one is pretty and rich (Inter). The second one is pretty but bitchy (Rube). Gabigol chose the first one. Moreover, it’s very normal in the modern football. Let him show his loves to Inter on the pitch, not by talking.
The case of Barbosssa is both Inter and Juve match the price his club are asking for him, then the choice goes to the player, easy choice between a starter/main sub and a third sub right? The deal between the parties is for Barbossa to join in January, Inter then pay a little more sum to bring him this summer.. It’s never in the first place that we offer more money than Juve.. Enough with the pressure on this kid already, let’s just see what will he gave for us..
Pitch is worth talking, anything else is just blah blah
I expect a lot from this young chap, I hope he’ll do us solid right away.
Im not banking on him I don’t want him to hurt my emotions if he doesn’t turn out, so Im taking it very easy with him, expecting him to be a regular player if turned out to be a super star then fuck yea
welcome barbosa to inter families
heheheh like he was told what to say, all answers were the same. anyway welcome and do you best
yea the interview is wack, he said what anyone would say
Welcome Gabigol..
Thanks for rejecting ruben
