After Inter’s press release of yesterday, in which the club announces a fine for Mauro Icardi and the revision of his book, but not the removal of captain band, Curva Nord has published a new press release in which answers to Inter one.
They claim that someone didn’t understand their message, they continue to say that the episode of the book – the shirt given by Icardi to a child and ripped from his hands by an ultras to give it back to Icardi – isn’t real.
“People continue so say that ultras are the evil of football, but Icardi asked sorry for the ways not the contents of the book. We understand Inter position but we don’t accept it. Icardi isn’t our captain and will never be. Inter needs a captain like Mazzola, Picchi, Facchetti, Bergomi, and Zanetti. A symbol, not a person like him. But now it’s time to forget it and to think to win again, all together, starting from match against Southampton.”

i think the reason why icardi still wear the armband is because suning doesn’t want him to be out of form if icardi out of form he doesn’t worth more than 70 mils if he can perform well and the right offer come then they will consider to let him go this is all about marketing wise. someone like miranda or handa deserves the armband
I’m not saying that Icardi is right but neither is CN. They acted as if they are a special fans and better than most of Inter fans across the world. I know they watch the game in the stadium every week and supported Inter when we can’t due to geographical reasons. But we also need to remember like Icardi, the CN aren’t a saint as well. All that racism slur that results in fines to Inter as well as hooligans action were all part of CN. I agree with Inter on this, they made the decision based on what’s best to the club and is not dictated by CN’s demand
hooligan CN? how do you know? they’re always supporting inter when everybody wants to sack mazzari, strama when the dark times they always supports inter unlike tho other fans, even zanetti was angry towards icardi because he messed everythings up
Never said what Icardi do was right. What I hate is that CN tried to control our management to steer them to do what they want. And CN did some things that could be considered hooliganism such as multiple racial slurs in the past.
At least they pay every week to see Inter. And become the registerd Interisti. What about you? Bet you even use streaming to watch Inter.
And what did you even do ? I bought Inter jersey every year that is the least I can do given my geographical location. What else do you want me to do? Buy ticket to Milan every single week ? please don’t be dumb
So being a ticket season holder you’re the only true fan? Other fans buy merch, goto friendlies when in other countries, pay for extra TV channels, etc. And at times save up to fly and see a home game. We are just as much as a fan as the Ultras….Also you do know way more income for clubs come from TV and not tickets?
I think Inter needs to focus on their product and backoff a little from the Ultra culture. They wouldn’t be soo pissed and hostile if Inter was doing well.
Finally, someone gets the point
LOL.. so we who is living outside italy cannot be an interisti because we CAN NOT come every week to watch at the stadium?? Stupid comment. Many inter fans are from Asia, do you expect us to travel to italy everyweek????
Sad to say but they are special than other Inter fans… We may love Inter the same but these guys are season ticket holders. They spend insane amounts of money themselves on tifosi that can hardly be matched at any other stadium. The Nord always mostly full when the rest of San Siro is empty. They are the away section at away games. Every group has a few bad eggs but they deserve to air their grievances. They earned that right.
You do know those banners are paid for by membership fees or even by the selling merch or reselling of tickets. Yes Ultras sell merch and some clubs give them tickets to resell.
And once again teams make more money from TV and broadcasting than tickets and concession at a stadium.
There are alot of other ways these guys make money, it’s very shady. I suggest you go and read up on it. They’re not as great as you paint them to be.
They act like they own inter… nobody bigger than inter, even the ultras. Great deciaion by the management
Ultras think that they are bigger than the club, well I’ll respect that if that can make them happy. I’ll kiss their ass if that can make them forgive Icardi and make a peace for the sake of the team. This whole issue is dismayed the team harmony and ruin their focus, dont they understand that?
actually CN just want a new captain, a captain that can be a symbol for this team just like Picchi – Facchetti – Mazzola – Bergomi – Zanetti… icardi is a good striker, but he’s not a captain material yet..
They want a new captain without seeing the current condition, its not appropriate time to change captaincy right now, if they judge him badly why not said so in the first place before the season started. But Im sure that its not because icardi lack of leadership but because icardi’s book that angered them, I’ll say let Icardi continue the captaincy until the end of the season, and let the team focus on the next game and dont ruin their preparation with this issue again
Actually they are right and they announced that they DID stop their war against Icardi for the benefit of the club, but still raised their opinion regarding the captaincy of Icardi and at the same time respected Inter’s decision, isn’t this enough to show good intentions?
As Suning and Inter gradually commoditize the club (globalize) the Ultras importance will dwindle. It won’t fade away but it won’t be as important as it was to Moratti’s management.
The stance which allows Mauro to maintain the captaincy demonstrates that Inter would rather make a poor decision then reenforce the the conviction of the CN.
These are interesting times in Italy.
Yeah I agree with you and disagree with the management.
“but still raised their opinion regarding captaincy of Icardi..” dont you think it can annoyed the team and distract their focus for the game? but I acknowledge their good intentions though
Yes it does, unfortunately there are always side effects
Doesn’t mean to be on Icardi side but even CN never mention any intention to sell Icardi, even at the very lowest moment like this. I see that they still put Icardi as a very important striker for us whether he is the captain or not.
I never can remember, a club’s captain hated by the fans this much… Inter should take action, how can a person like that lead our team on the field? He will bring some negative vibes to the team… Please take off his armband FFS!
Bullshits! Icardi made a mistake, will be punished and pay for it, he apologized and ask for forgiveness! What more he could do? There’s no sinless people, when somebody made mistake and regret it, it’s most normal thing to receive forgiveness! Jesus Christ what was sad : “Let the one of you that is sinless be the first to throw a stone at her”. Are ultras sinless? I was never heard apologize from them, after they committed mistake. People who was on the stadium sad that most fans on Meazza support Icardi and applauded him after missed penalty (which every good fan should do, to support his team no matter what). As i sad before, ultras doesn’t represent all interisti in the world and can’t speak on their behalf! Let alone that is utter stupid, management to let bunch of ultras to decide who suppose to be the coach, captain, style of play, etc.
There whole statement is like a backhanded non-truce…And there are videos showing Guarin and Icardi gave jersey’s and shorts to the fans. Some were given to kids and were thrown back by men.
Unless the people who he gives them too are very very short men. Which could be the case.
nothing more to say but RESPECT…
This isn’t the whole message from the ultras. The author of this post should have professionally post everything not just copy and paste from what he thinks is relevant as the meaning is lost. To be honest the whole message make sense and I agree with them.
Can you post the whole message?
There you go:
Let’s start with a necessary clarification,” a statement begins.
“Many have not wanted to understand the reason for our stance. The incident of a shirt being ripped from the hands of a child – as recounted in Icardi’s book – is fictional.
“Assimilating this idea, which is not too difficult to verify, would help everyone. That’s even before the written death threaths [which if we’d made them would have meant injunctions and probably a jail cell].

“Then we’re stuck with a ‘head to head’, the Curva against Icardi, only to end up with the classic ‘the Ultras are the evil of football’.
“Icardi has apologised for his over-the-top tone, not the content. Icardi continues to support, in a cowardly way, the idea that the head of the Ultras would launch himself at a child.
“We won’t return to this point. Whoever wants to do that, with fictions and distorted perspectives is free to do so, but they’re living in a dimension which is an alternate reality.
“For us as for everyone else – we hope – the captain of Internazionale should be a symbol.

“Experience, charisma, humility, integrity, intelligence… Picchi – Facchetti – Mazzola – Bergomi – Zanetti. Basically the opposite of Icardi.
“We therefore cannot find agreement with the statement of the Inter hierarchy. We understand it, the logic, the motivation. But we can’t accept it.
“It’s not for us to decide though, to each his proper role. That’s what we’ve always asked for, that’s how it should be.
“We believe though that a club like Inter, outside of our views, shouldn’t allow an individual like Icardi to wear the captain’s armband.
“Not because the Curva says so, but because of ethics and respect. Honestly, our history deserves something better. For now though, enough.
Curva Nord vs Icardi

“Icardi is a closed chapter, we don’t want to talk about this anymore. HE IS NOT OUR CAPTAIN. HE IS NOT NOW, HE NEVER WILL BE.
“The Curva will do what the Curva does, we’re already preparing for the Europa League match [with Southampton] on Thursday. We’re preparing our voice, we’re preparing our hearts.
“Hands to the sky, Inter needs US.”
i agree with CN, we deserve a better captain.. a captain that know how to unite the team and the fans together like Picchi – Facchetti – Mazzola – Bergomi – Zanetti. icardi is to young, and causing trouble after trouble..
Yes, we maybe need better captain. Icardi probably isn’t the best example for the kids. But we need better fans too. Who doesn’t put their pride before the club, doesn’t threaten their own players, doesn’t insulting them, doesn’t booed after first mistake. Fans who’s not sinless and understand that is human to make mistakes and it’s divine to forgive! If you want captain like Picchi, Facchetti, Mazzola, Bergomi, Zanetti, you suppose to be on their level!
What is wrong with you?

Wow…a strong and heartfelt message..whoever wrote this loves Inter very much.
yes what’s done its done, lets all work together and win the rest of the games , very important for us to advance from the group stage, and btw its not nice booing icardi during the games, that effects the player and then effects the team and then all the fans will be mad like me at the results, we should stop that immediately
