Handanovic to Sky: “We did not play well but the result was needed at all costs”

Samir Handanovic spoke with Sky after Inter‘s 1-0 victory over Southampton where he starred: “The most complicated save? The second. When I attacked [the ball], I had nothing to lose and I threw myself forward. The result was needed at all costs, we had to win today, we suffered and we did not play well, it must be said, but the victory will now give us confidence to do well. In the Italian league all teams are prepared and we are motivated. We must be practical in the field, we must not only attack. Defence? When you lose the ball you do not foul and it undergoes the re-start, you have to make more tactical fouls in the attacking midfield. Sometimes we seemed superficial, today we did not play well but we were concrete [at the back] and bad.”
