One of Inter‘s directors Nicola Volpi read absent (due to personal reasons) Erick Thohir‘s speech at today’s shareholders meeting, here are the president’s words:
“With the exception of a few good performances the team’s results have been unsatisfactory up to now. We know very well that you can experience highs and lows in football: we played extremely well against Juventus and won, we played well against Roma and lost, and we’ve also had a number of poor performances. We secured an important three points on Wednesday and hopefully we can push on from there now.
We must stick together and help the coach and the team, as shareholders and as a club, by trying to provide our full support so that we can face every challenge with courage, grit and determination. Together we must honour the Nerazzurri colours that we all love – no one more so than you, the club’s shareholders, who are here today.
You should know that as a club we are here to accept our responsibilities, in the good and the bad, and we will continue to take whatever decisions are necessary for the good of Inter.
Despite the difficulties we have encountered, the aims we set ourselves at the start of the season remain unaltered. With its history and tradition, this club deserves to be competing on the highest stage: Inter should be back in the Champions League. That remains our target – it has not changed just because we’ve left a few points by the wayside.
Now we must work even harder to get ourselves back on track and make up the lost ground. And we can only do that if we all work together.”

So the pressure on FDB to deliver and bring results continues and “the club is ready to take any decision necessary for the good of the club”- I guess ready to sack the coach if does delivers!
Everyone else from Zanetti, Bolingbroke to Ausillio have stated their outmost trust in Frank de Boer but of cause he has to win
They said the same about Mancini but he ended up getting sacked. I don’t think anyone as ever came out and publicly said they would not stand behind a coach.
I still don’t think Mancini got sacked he wanted to leave just as much – he wanted something else than the club wanted (Thohir WANTS an entertaining attacking minded team, where as Mancini has always been accused of been “boring” in England as well, plus Mancini wanted ready-made players with experience but the club wants to focus on young players- the stars of tomorrow!).
But true, the frace; “we totally support our coach, and he surely will stay!” has for ages been a certain sign the coach was a “walking dead!”.
well said. i really want to see inter with entertaining attacking minded team. i hope de boer can make it happen soon.
Me too, I see the next game -away to Samp -as our real test, not the game at home against Torino, with all our board members whatching, no NOW the biggest test is ahead!
yeah but sadly with our attacking style, we played good when against the same attacking minded team. but we’ve been in our brink when we played against defending minded team
they always say the same, since years i still remember. they said believed in coach blah blah. two days later, the coach got sacked..
