All Massimo Moratti can do is watch on at the chaos unfolding at Inter with him no longer being in a decision making position. Corriere dello Sport ponder whether or not he could play a role once Thohir leaves entirely. Moratti has not been critical of Suning but it is ultimately they who will make the decisions. Inter need someone, preferably Italian close to the team.

Can we please get a manager that will make use of our youth players? I’m tired of benching the youth for players that are over the hill and past their prime! Gnouk should be a starter in midfield after making his debut couple years ago and Miangue should be one of the starting fullbacks and he can play either side.
when is exactly Thohir would be out of inter?
That is one of the reason why we’re losing one match after another… who is the most important person in club? Thohir? No way… Moratti? Important, but not as much as he used to.. Chinese? They send nobody. Bolingbroke? He’s close to leave as far as I know. Zanetti? Honestly, I miss the times of Moratti, because then were no doubts who is the boss..
Like it or not I am back!
Did you just make a new account to post this hahah
No! I am with you for a long time. I suppose that you are not visitor often here since you havent noticed me yet.
What is Vice President Zanetti role if he cant even interview potential coaching candidates. They can’t trust him with something like that, so they rather send someone they trust (Jun Run) instead?
I think his role is more or les the same as a king or queen has for a country that stil has a monarchy; he travels the world REPRESENTING the country/club but hasn’t got any real power to deside or do anything himself… but of cause, having him to convince players and coaches from South America and especially Argentína is gold( like him convincing Banega to join us)!
Right now, inter is a three-headed snake. The Italian managers, Thohir and Chinese. We don’t want three captains at a ship.
There’s only 1 person I want to run this team. Orialli. He literally built the treble winning team. He has a fantastic eye for talent. Unfortunately Branca convinced Moratti to force him out. He’s now part of the National Team. I personally do not want Moratti any where within a 100m radius around this team. When you say “I loved Recoba,” you lose all credibility.
Are you sure it was Branca who forced Lele out? Because i have the impression it was Benitez.
Benitez? No I too hear Blanca convinced Moratti, the old fool, to fire Oriali and only have Branca to do his job…
My bad then. Maybe i am confusing it with Benitez forcing Baresi out.
there’s no problem with baresi out. he was onkly moratti’s spy in the team.
Yes I actually think you’re right about that! Benitez wanted his own assistant to join him at Inter and Baresi got a smaller assistant role -but he still works as a kind of assistant at the club -LEGEND!!
No way it’s Benitez. He only been there for six months and could annoys the managerial post? He’s not even got Mascherano.
Oriali coming in would mean Ausillio leaving…. and no-wants that! But true, he did really great until Brandt back-stapped him!
Orialli > Ausillio, but Orialli as President and Ausillio can keep his post.
Hmm well.. Oriali us more a squad manager right more than a club/firm runner. No we need someone from China to move to Milan and become our president -which I think Steven Shong, the son of the owner, is planing to do, right?
moratti is legendary …. disaster.
he looks like he stinks…
for once I agree with you
just continue …
now people start to realize how important he was, you have to be there and watch these mothefuckaz and spank them
Thohir must go!
Couldn’t agree with you more mate. We need Moratti back!
No way! We need a strong Italian based management which I guess will come. We cannot have presidents in Jakarta and owners in China when he media, coaches and fans wants answers to things! But it’ll come I hope…
Exactly, he learned so much in the end. He is the ideal president.
Is there someone better? Thohir may have flipped Inter for a profit but his decisions were better than those of Moratti’s. For instance, firing Branca (the worse mercatto guru ever) and personally stopping the fiasco Guarin-Vuccinic trade. Moratti would have approved it just like Pirlo’s, Seedorf’s, Cannavaro’s etc. etc. etc.
The only good thing with Moratti, besides his genuine passion, was that we knew who the boss is. The current management needs to establish a hierarchy; but other than that, I like their decision making better than Moratti’s.
Not a good idea, most of our time under him was a disaster. We just need a process or a system (I’m putting my management consulting hat here) that we stick to and a leader with a degree of autonomy.
We need the foreign money. If we still had Moratti we’d probably collapse like Parma or Lazio. Any owner would be a fool to spend the money and then let someone else have full autonomy. The Suning group has put its money where its mouth is so far with the big purchases. Like I mentioned in another post, they just need to realize that in Serie A you can’t be both winning and entertaining.
Agree with you in everything except the “not winning AND being entertaining” thing, Milan was a Gréta to example and Roma also won with great football even the current Juve isn’t playing any kind of football that even comes NEAR cattanachio! They have great attacking players and are playing entertaining football, not Dutch all-out attack, but football which is more or les the same as they play it in England (Chelsea, City, Utd …)
About Suning; I really hope they do what you said; “put their money where their mouth is” by getting in a big-name coach now, someone to stay!! And someone we will trust on buying the right players in January and next summer so that our squad is ready for next years Serie a not will experience yet another “year zero!”
I go for Blanc, because of his back ground with us, but Hiddink would also be an interesting coach who would be great at “attracting” strong players like Mancini did, but he has zero experience from Serie A…
Yes but what did Roma win? NOTHING, they couldn’t even make it past the pre-CL qualification (facing one of the weakest Porto sides in recent memory.) Lazio and Napoli also failed to make it past the qualifying pre-CL stages the past seasons as well. Serie A teams that dare to be a bit entertaining and all-attack are doomed because they can’t balance their defensive league and attacking European league.
Juve still play defensive and cautious. You should see how timid they were last year when they capitulated against Bayern in the CL. It’s very hard to balance out the two (domestic and european) styles.
I’m talking about when Roma won the title in 2001, long time ago, but they played fine football…. but true you need balance in ANY league!
And premiership is very pool in quality, thanks for goodnpost!
Not you, and Not Thohir!
You can spent, but you can’t manage the money
It’s all downhill from you
We are fucked up.. This season is over by now, if we’re lucky we will be in top 10 not the bottom ones this year.. People are still dreaming about Simeone, who said he’ll do great at Inter? That if he accepted to drag himself to that shit hole
We are 8pts out of 3rd. Literally 3 wins and we are tied for 2nd. Serie A is won after Christmas not before.
Hehe yes, let’s stay positive and let’s supporting the players, the new coach and our beloved INTER!!!
You believe we can win three matches while all the 10 top teams lose with our current situation ? Good luck with that
Everyone blames management and coaches and players. At end of the day, the problem always starts from the president. Before thorhir we were broke but had moratti. Now we have thorhir and suning, money hungry businessmen who are throwing money at every single thing they think is gold. Honestly I love these guys helped bring in some players and the money to the team. But they are rarely ever physically around the squad. We need the money from thorhir and sunning, it is true. But why do they have to be a half president?(half the time in italy and half in other countries.) Why not appoint a real preisdent and they just be in the background? I think this is inevitable but should be done already, promote Zanetti to fucking president. He will be with the team constantly. Respected around italy and loved by curva nord and all interista. He would be able to communicate to everyone easily based on his respectful approach to everything. And lastly he actually gives a fuck about inter and not seeing this as just a “brand”. Yes the players are to blame as well because they perform like scared teens when they are on the field but we cant always buy 11 players every year and expect to win. It seems inter needs more than just a new coach to be able to make any sort of waves in the football world again but us fans cant expect top 3 finishes for the next couple of years.
Zanetti showed nothing so far in this director role or whatever role he has. He has been picking our captains in the last few years and it has been a bust (Ranocchia, Icardi, Palacio, Nagatomo etc.) I love Zanetti to death but I don’t think he is a good director. We should hire Leonardo and bring back Oriali and make them our leaders of the club in Italy.
I shouldnt say zanetti alone, but how about a person who at least is close to italy or inter. Like moratti son at this point i would even accept. Foreign owners do not seem to work in italy. I totally disagree with leonardo and he already said no. Leonardo didnt do more than stramaccoini and thats not saying much for strama even lol. It is just a joke what the team has become
Leonardo said no to coaching role, I’m talking about a role in management, he did good at PSG in that role. I wouldn’t want Moratti’s son, Moratti run us in the ground few years back and if it wasn’t for Thohir and Suning investing money we would be in a very ugly situation. It doesn’t matter if the owners are foreign, it matter who they pick to run the club on day-to-day basis.
Agree enough with Moratti and his old fashioned ideas! We need an Italian base- TRUE! I mean our owners are in China and the President in Jakar… We need a president and some strong directors (Zanetti hasn’t been really cleave in handling the Icardi matter f.x) who are present and who speaks for the club in a clear way!
BTW all the owners, and the hole board was present in Milan last weekend, why the H-ll didn’t they put together a plan b, just in case FdB would fuck up again?? Why didn’t they say; if we fire him, we already have an idea on whom to take in instead!?? Now we’re waiting to resolve the problem until after the Crotone game it seems and the difficult away game to Southamton will be managed by Vecchi with ZERO experience!!
“The whole board was present in Milan last weekend, why the H-ll didn’t they put together a plan b, just in case FdB would fuck up again??”
Omg I was thinking the same. What is wrong with these stupid management? We are fucked as long as they are making the decisions.
I read they sending someone from China, some guy named Jun Ren to interview potential coaching candidates lol. Who is Jun Ren and what the heck does he know about football. Why not let Zanetti, Gardini and Ausilio do this job????
Do you really believe they didn;t start the process last week. I’m sure they did but they wanted to evaluate different options and sound different candidates. IMO that’s the right way to do it. And it wasn’t just the coach change they were contemplating but the CEO as well. Choosing the right coach is more important that the games against Sou and Crotone and even the one against Milan. We support Inter with passion but decisions like these should be made with a cold head.
Yes I believe that the presoes wasn’t started when the hole board and all the shareholders were in Milan when we played Torino, because we had 4-5 coaches coming to Milan having “face to face”meetings with people directly flown in from China the next hole weekend NOT the same weekend as Suning spend in Milan 7 days before!
But true, I too liked the job interviews and the thoroughly choise of our next coach. This is the direct opposite to what Moratti used to do, which is VERY positive!
Why management?because now we dont have real president, like you said. President without mayority power like thohir cant make decision alone, he need approval from sunning. While sunning will ask moratti opinion first as the italian, former president, n the elder.
So now we have three sun in this team. Thohir with his position as official president. Sunning with their money, n morati with his history.
Can’t agree more! Expectations have to be adjusted and the team should be given time and peace to work and improve. I liked that Sunning didn;t just change the coach but also the CEO, recognizing the true problem and acting immediately to fix it. I’m sure that will lead to more changes down the pecking order and hope Inter can finally become an Organization. And I don’t mean a business organization but a sport club working with a clear vision and a long term plan. New management should focus on actual “team building” not just buying random players, a neat group of players who trust and actually like each other and believe in their abilities and the style of football. Results and top 3 finish should be secondary. They will come after the hard work.
