Inter’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, spoke with Sky after the Europa match between Inter and Southampton. He spoke about the choice of the future coach and also of Inter and of De Boer’s farewell:

I appreciate his work and skills, but he is obviously to blame as well. Why didn’t he tell the ownership that rather than wasting 70M or so on Joao Mario and Gabigol to get proper full backs. We’ve been pathetic in full-back department for as long as I can remember. The only true world-class FB we had in the last 10 years was Maicon (and JZ to some extent.)
This season is a write-off. Pick a coach carefully, ask him his vision for the club and then get two really good FBs in January. If it means we have to sell players who don’t show the right spirit (Brozo, Kondogbia and Perisic) so be it. I am tired of these players who think they’re better than the team. The only good thing about DeBoer is he benched those three when they thought they’re better than the team.

Kondo and especially Perisic are world class and they show under Mancio, if an asshole like FdShit isn’t able to get the best out of them, is it their problem or Ausilio’s problem or that guy’s problem!?
I am not saying Joao is a bad player. But ask yourself, did we need Joao Mario more or Bruno Peres and Darmian/decent fullback? In this case, Joao was an unnecessary buy since we needed fullbacks more than we needed him. Ausilio is honestly to blame here unless the Suning group told him explicitly (which I doubt) not to bother about fullbacks.
