After the 3-0 victory against Crotone, Stefano Vecchi also spoke to Sky Sport:
A tip to the successor Pioli? “For long stretches we dominated, but with little punches. The only thing you could do was to put someone fresh. I moved Perisic and put Jovetic to create superiority. We scored almost immediately after: a windfall within a match in which we conducted totally without giving anything to a healthy team, while we were a bit ‘sick. Maybe the boys now realize that with a little sacrifice games are won. I’ll tell Pioli that they’re a group of boys that surprised me, even though I already knew them. Now there will be no problem in returning to the Spring, the important thing is that we did what we had. Siam happy and thank you now for this vote of confidence. Sorry about Southampton because we came close to get a result.”
Would it have been possible to see Vecchi continue as Inter’s coach even after the Crotone game, if the team had won against Southampton? “If there was a 1% chance, passing by two victories. The regret is for the knockout, it also said that there they were missing many players as Brozovic, tonight he had a very good performance.”
Why three out of four Italians in defense? “Ansaldi was out, Nagatomo had spent time in England and, knowing how to play the Croton – often with high balls – I wanted a tall defender, with Ranocchia is much better than Murillo.”
The many goals conceded is the fault of the defenders or the little protection? “I think the difference is in the face of the defense protection. In these two matches we have created two compact lines. Even in England we conceded two goals being limited with the organization, since they arrived one by one in-goal area and deployed in defense. This is despite the midfield which was not really dedicated to the defense. Often Candreva and Perisic are criticized, but even they are really made completely available.”

I give a credit to Vecchi for the win, at least for the formation he chose against Southampton and now against Crotone. Because i believe that now in our situation 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 is most suitable.
But i have to say, that we was lucky tonight, because the time was running out and we was clueless, doesn’t know what to do against Crotone deep, tight defense, except constant crossing! And despite that we couldn’t score, he was afraid to sub out a defender (Santon or D’Ambrosio). Because is meaningless to play with four defenders, when you desperately need to win and your opponent barely can step in your half. For me D’Ambrosio and Ranocchia are strange choices, sub out Banega too and it’s hard to understand why he doesn’t sub out Candreva much earlier.
Anyway I’m happy for the victory, we desperately needed that. And I’m curious are there still people who are dissatisfied with Icardi nad think that we should selling him to Napoli?
Icardi can stay as long as he give up the armband.
in my timezone..it was almost 2 AM ini the morning when jovetic comes in..my eyes was almost closed by the time..i went to sleep disappointed again knowing that we either get a tie or lost again..but hooorraayyyyyy woohhooooo
