During an interview with Marca Plus, Andrea Pirlo mentioned one of the darkest side of his career, the spell he had at Inter during the 3-year period 1998-2001: “Playing in Inter shirt was the dream of my life. It was the team I was supporting, even though after me, many changes in the squad and in the technical stuff were made. That experience forged me as the player I’m Today, like the other I had in my professional growth. At the beginning I was very young, I was 18 years old, and it was one hour driving from home to reach Milan, but for me was amazing. Unfortunately I wasn’t consistent so they let me go”.

That’s enough for me to salute you. True interista and true professional. You’re Serie A legend and the best deep-lying playmaker.
poor him to have baggio and recoba before him :/
The club was in upheaval in those days sacking coaches etc. Then we find out (or should I say, it si confirmed as we always knew) Inter’s lack of success was due to match fixing. A lot of talent left Inter due to that reason as everyone thought they were not consistent. Match fixing is not a victim less crime. A lot of people suffer.
This team never have time for young player either the coach.. Not a shocking news if manager get sacked or we sold a talented player and he is doing well in other team
the only player we developed well was adriano we sent him for a loan spell with parma then come back as starter . unfortunately his career was too short for us due to his behavior .
How about Recoba? We loaned him at Venezia and returned to become a marvelous player too.
sure dude , the ugly truth is we search for players who developed by inter when they were young we found only two , am talking about the last 20 years of course . el chino you are talking about 60% of his career in inter stayed on bench or injured , but he stayed because moratti consider him as his son and was paying him 4.5 million wwithout playing 🙂
looks like everyone is an Interista at bottom of their heart
Don’t make me cry Pirlo, don’t :'(
Coutinho
was thinking exactly the same thought.. why are they inconsistent with Inter!!!?? if Kondo is sold he will become a beast..
lol, every talented inconsistent player will become a beast if they leave Inter
he was 18 years old and not consistent … haha, HE WAS 18 !!
dear pirlo, you’re not the exception rather than the sad rule … 🙁
At Inter they never have time for the young players.
The one that got away
Seeing you and seedorf playing for Milan was painful every time. .
playing VERY WELL for Milan :-(((((
That experience forged me as the player I’m Today, true
I’d take you back at any age
they should find a place for him at inter to start teaching young players. he is internista in his soul !
