Stefano Pioli analyzes the performance of his side Inter Milan after a 2-2 draw against AC Milan during an interview with Premium Sports:
“We did not deserve defeat but we are happy to have achieved a positive result in the end. We had a good test, but there are positive things and also some things we need to improve and grow. In the first half we played just us, we took a few re-starts but we had balance. We cannot be perfect, but the team has put their heart as I requested. We have to remain more compact. I liked the urge to go to attack your opponent, even if in some cases we have exceeded. We must have a single idea and the desire to do, but today I got the answers I expected.”
The transfer market? “The improvement of my team will first of all be through hard work, because I have a team with great technical players. We have to have more malice and determination, we need to improve the quality in the desire. As for the goals conceded we conceded very little, but we were immediately penalized, it takes more balance because, for example in the first goal we were unbalanced and had to do better.”
Gabigol? He has excellent quality and is working well.
Have I called some former Nerazzurri coach? “I have a great relationship with my colleagues but by habit never call, I prefer to take my own feelings, I found a great atmosphere and lots of support, I’m sure we will do a great job together. I arrived at Inter at the right time in my career, then for the fact of being always Nerazzurri can have special reasons, but the important thing is that we give the highest ever. If I thought of it before, I believe it even more after tonight.”
The Champions League? “It will be a difficult run but the championship is long and the points available are many. We have to be strong and keep pedaling.”
1 thing i notice is that now handa throws the ball to players instead of kicking it long..i think it is much much better so that we can build up plays from behind..if handa kicks the balls sometimes it ends up in the oppositions
I don’t understand, why we can’t find a coach, who knows how to use properly substitutions that they can change the game? Nagatomo for Ansaldi was a bad choice and Jovetic as last hope was just utterly stupid and disaster, especially when you have Eder, Banega and even Gabriel on on bench!
I liked Medel choice as Miranda partner, deep press in opposite half immediately after we lost the ball and first half we totally controlled the game. But we still continue to missed too many opportunities and we conceding too much from childish mistakes in defense! Second half we was most of the time clueless and there’s wasn’t any sign how we can score. Let’s be honest, we was lucky to score so late. And i really hope that this late sneak out will give some time and peaceful environment for Pioli to work hard, because there’s a lot for improvement in this team.
P.S. This kid Locatelli looks sensational and when you add Donnaroumma, who’s special talent and Romagnioli, who’s very good prospect. Milan have three very good young italian talents, around who can build future strong team. And I’m very jealous about that!

Why can we not change icardi, today bilan wwere defending that box, when a team play like that u need a striker who can take on a player, why not eder or gabigol icardi can have he’s day.
Spot on! Icardi is more predictable. Perhaps play with two center forwards.

We were the better team but we suffered from the same problem as with FDB: inefficiency in front of the goal. I hope you do better, mr. Pioli. Watching Moolan defend like a mid table team for 90 minutes was certainly nice.

We made way too many crosses still, but i guess everything change quickly and without Banega in midfield there was always going to lack something through the middle.
Anyways, it was positive to see Medel as CB, also that his subs actually made sense and was made IN FUCKING TIME and not some some clueless subs in the 85th+ minute like Mancini and especially Flop De Boer often made.
Overall a positive debut for Piolo. Not much he can do about Ansaldi and Miranda fucking up on both goals, as well as the poor finishing in the other end.
I liked his decision to play Medel as a CB and I hope he will stick with it in the future if it works, today he looked fantastic. I also hope that not playing Banega was merely a choice because of international duties he had and will start him from now on.
his subs were spot on also, ansaldi was minutes away from getting sent off and not subbing out kdog and perisic ended up being pretty sick since they ended up helping each other to score
