Following a last minute equalizer by Ivan Perisic, AC Milan and Inter drew 2-2 in an intense Derby Della Madonnina. Suso gave the Rossoneri the lead twice but saw first Candreva and finally Perisic tie things in the end.

Broz!
Joao Mario.
Not Ansaldi for sure. Suso was having fun with him and for first time I was happy to see Naga come in lol
I picked Candreva for his goal, also cause he had a nice game, though not amazing. I also liked Kondo’s overall performance, he was really tired in the end, but his distributing long passes were perfection. He needs to clear his act in close control and really needs to stop dribbling when most of the team is up front, but after such a long absence I liked his hustle. Brozo too, nicely took the role of deep lying play maker and did his best today. Perisic terrible performance imo but managed to find the net and save our asses. I couldn’t help but feel Joao Mario was off place this match, isolated and not fully understanding his position. Maybe Banega would have done better behind Icardi.
I’d agree with all of your assessments except for Brozovic, who I thought was mediocre at best. He did nothing but rotate the ball, showing little to no creativity while doing so, and was even suspect on defense. I could almost say for certain than Gnoukouri would’ve played that role better, and sparked some creativity into our midfield, which was clearly lacking yesterday. Brozovic works hard, but simply doesn’t have the creativity needed to operate as a regista, and should stick to his role of box to box.
The regista position needs a good distributer who can give careful passes and not lose the ball. IMO Brozo seemed out of place cause cause Mario was out of place and he was the one who was supposed to bring creativity to the game. I suppose when Banega comes back they’ll start understanding each other better. Brozo made mistakes and was far from his level for Croatia, but he was adequate.
Banega is certainly the focal point for most of the creativity in our midfield. Both Brozovic and Joao Mario are secondary playmakers, facilitating play towards Banega and Candreva, the main playmakers, once they find the space they need to work in. These types of players are essential in any team, but need to stick to their role and not be given more responsibility than they can handle. Consequently, having two of these types of players on the field at once is redundant, and could cause confusion as we saw yesterday. Personally, I believe Inter’s best lineup as of right now would look like this: https://gyazo.com/3e73db9cad720c952af26d0734fde841
Wow! Brozo created 8 goalscoring chances that game and you say that he is mediocre!?
Where are these stats coming from?
I don’t think I have a clear MOTM from this game. Unreleated, say what you will about Perišič being in worse form than last season, I still think he should be starting. Candreva should be the one fighting for his spot with Eder or Gabigol. Perišić always finds a way to help in the end. 4 goals and 2 assists so far this season, by this average he would have 12 goals and 6 assists at the end of the season. And he isn’t shy in big games, scored vs Milan and Juventus.
Good point… he is always looking to score and he never gives up. Ideal starter for any team.
