Handanovic took to the microphones of TuttoUdinese.it and had some good things to say about his experience at Udinese.

Handanovic holds the team record for most penalty saves and longest streak without conceding (8 games)

“I am proud and very happy about this. Udinese has a big place in my heart. In story of a team that is 120 years old, considered to be the strongest by the people who loves this club, it’s one thing that makes a big difference. ”

“It has been a constant growth as a player and as a man. In Udinese I improved, and learned more and more how to behave on and off the field.”

“The best memory is the third place finish in 2011-2012, we went back to Udine and the fans were happy and we were expected at the airport and I did not believe such a thing could happen.

The greatest regret, however, was the preliminary against Arsenal, unfortunately we were not prepared. In addition to missing Basta and Domizzi, that year we did not reinforce the team as we should have after the transfer of Sanchez. I am convinced that we could point to something important. We were a large group and a real team, we could take away a lot of satisfaction. ”

What is the most beautiful save?

“I choose two. Arsenal-Udinese when we lost 1-0, I made a good save on a close shot by Walcott, in the  90th minute. The other against Siena at Udine: we won the game, but I remember that save because it was a situation on which I had trained so much and in that situation, it was very difficult to make. ”

Only good memories on his relationship with Udinese’s fans:

“My character is very similar to the people of that area of Udine and Friuli. This is why we enjoyed it together. I always love to come back to Udine, both when I play and when I return sometime from Slovenia and I stop to greet friends. One day I hope to go back. “
