FCInterNews.it have exclusively revealed that talks between Jeison Murillo and Inter over an improved contract have came to a standstill. After Gary Medel’s derby performance and Murillo’s performances since his recall, Inter no longer see him as a starter. The Colombian himself isn’t all to convinced about what’s next for him at Inter either despite being contracted until 2020 and if the situation doesn’t change in the coming months he could need to explore other avenues. With talks on hold this gives concerned parties a time to reflect and ultimately decide what is best.

He started so well last season under Mancini, sad to see him lose most of that form. Now he is a glorified JJ. I still like him though, hope he can become great again.
He played well when we sat back, had the cover from some hard working midfielders in front of him like Medel + Melo but when we started to push up playing more attacking minded the defense was left exposed and he showed that he isn’t good enough.
Now, it seems like we´re going 3-4-3 with 2 defensive minded strong players in front of the defensive 3 back line (Melo+Broso or Rincon if he arrives with Broso – yes, Broso does a lot of defensive work!!)
So hopefully that defensive help from the midfielders and from the extra defender next to him, could help him getting his shit back on track.
I agree, he never was top quality, but he was better than other options we had. Still, even if he did better because of that system, you can’t deny he himself wasn’t playing better, he definitely lost some form.
He wasn’t top quality but because of his age we hoped he could develop into one…
