Three days from Sassuolo-Inter, the launch of the 17th match day of Serie A. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport there are still several doubts training that inhabit the mind of Stefano Pioli, who this afternoon the team tested in version of 3-4-2-1.
In front of Handanovic, confirmed the defensive trio D’Ambrosio-Miranda-Murillo, while in midfield, on the sides of Brozovic, Melo, are Candreva on the right flank and one of Ansaldi and Nagatomo on the opposite lane. On the frontline space Perisic and Joao Mario are going to settle down behind Icardi.

Looks very promising – Ambros will move to his right turning into a right back when needed, and Melo will drop into the center back line when needed turning into a defender. Mario loves to play as an attacking mid and has the running power to track back as well helping out Ansaldi…
Although I hate 3-defense formations, but… Ok.
We use 3 cb because our defense is so bad. Chelsea defense was so bad. Look what happened after conte change to 3 cb.
The difference between Chelsea’s back 3 and Inters back 3 is that Chelsea has wingers that protect their flank and central midfielders that protect their defenders in Matic and Kante! Inter has nither of those players…
Of course, that means chelsea have more quality in wb and kante in the middle. At least we try different formation rather than keep losing with 433 or 4231, who knows, maybe it can be our solution for this season
Yeah hope so.. but the sad thing is that the players seems more lost with a 3 man backline.. but we will see what happens..
They are not used to the new formation yet. They will feel comfortable with it in two or three matches. But in this new formation there will be higher chance for gabriel to play. I hope pioli give him chance to play instead of palacio
Yeah hope so..
I hate to admit this but our current squad is designed to play 3-4-1-2 at best:
Medel/Andreolli – Miranda – Murillo
Candreva – Brozovic – J.Mario – Perisic
Banega
Icardi – Eder
No Nagatomo, no Dumbrosio, no Melo, no Palacio and no more out positions.
Obviously, Icardi needs a partner. Gabigol can be introduced when Eder is tired running here and there and let’s see what he can give to this team.
i like your formation bro
very weak defence!
it’s more like 3-2-3-2
It will be much weaker if we put our lords here and there.
I said this 3-4-1-2 is the strongest line up as we can drop our lords completely, of course not the perfect one. If we can get solid fullbacks in the winter mercato, I would say 4 backs formation will provide more balance.
great formation imo.
if i where in charge of inter i would sell banega to get biglia. i would use the formation of juve under conte:
medel – Miranda – murillo
biglia
candreva – brozovic – j.mario – perisic
eder/gabigol – icardi
in thsi way all the strongest players are beeing used
This is also another great twist! Biglia could be the regista who will complete this squad. Too bad Banega is not versatile enough to fill this position as he knows nothing about defense.
agreed. banega would be very good if he only could defend better.
about banega. i dont really see him as a trequartista. hes shooting is too weak. and as you said he has too weak defending to be a regista or even a normal CM. imo hes not suited for the serie a even though hes a strong player.
Which leaves a HUGE hole in the middle of the pitch when we lose the ball – neither Banega, Broso or Mario enjoys to track much back and tacle – Melo does!
Medel will do that as he can cover as a DM and sweeper. The problem is we still don’t have a regista. We need someone who can pass properly, dictate the tempo and help the defense when needed. If only K-Dog learned to do simple passes he would fit very well as a destroyer and regista. Too bad, he is way too cute to do that.
Agree, Medel isn’t good enough to be a real regista – destroyer -sure , but not a regista.
Biglia would be awesome but seems too expensive, so Badelj would be fine – knowing Broso from the national team and knowing Italian football and so on…
Swap melo with mario, and insert barbosa in the front line
Miangue>nagatomo
Me and u and anybody else > that guy
But in All honesty i always said naga wasn’t starter material I mean even when he first joined inter he was ok but he was never good
my 2 years old nephew > Naga.
Maybe Barbosa one time is starting XI? If he’ll perform badly, then sub him, simple.
we/he needs the points!I understand and respect his decisions!
Oh so grandpa palacios better I guess
He is more experienced for sure yet he cannot play more than 45 mins anymore
Calm down man, I’m not a fanboy of him or something, just curious how he’ll do. I respect Pioli, except one game vs Napoli he did well and finally I can’t wait to see Inter game…
very weird deployment. hope the lads who deploy out of their comfort zone could perform well
I like the formations and the players to be honest!(due to the players)
