Inter got their first away win since 21-Sep-16 against an injury ravaged Sassuolo. Candreva with his 3rd goal of the season was the star performer and deserved his goal for his constant running and havoc creating passes and crosses. Only blight in the victory was Melo’s sending off. Here are the ratings for the tie:
Samir Handanovic – 7: Absolutely fantastic save from that Defrel touch in the first and from that Sensi volley in the 2nd. Looks relaxed, in form and in control.
Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6.5: One of his best games for Inter. Made the most tackles, shut down plenty of attacks from their left wing didn’t make any major mistakes.
Joao Miranda – 6.5: Steady, strong and consistent. He organized us well as we slowly grew into the game. Cleared everyone’s mess when they were struggling.
Jeison Murillo – 6: Poor 1st half as he consistantly gave away both ball and chances. In the 2nd he was back to his old self and battled it out like it was 2015.
Cristian Ansaldi – 6,5: Attacked and defended well. It was difficult to get the ball from him. Slowly growing into his role and provided much needed solidity.
Marcelo Brozovic – 6: After that great Genoa performance, this was bit of a let down. He didn’t shoot well today but did the basics right and transitioned well.
Felipe Melo – 5,5: He bossed the midfield and didn’t let Sassuolo do anything centrally. Got sent off for 2 needless yellow cards that could be avoided. Typical.
Antonio Candreva – 7: Man of the match. Everything creative in the 1st half especially came from his feet. His hard work deserved the winning goal!
Joao Mario – 6,5: Classy with a nd without the ball. Held up play well when needed and took the fouls for the team. It’s a pity he will miss out vs Lazio
Ivan Perisic – 5,5: Certainly the worst performer today. He missed 3 chances that an in form Perisic would gobble up. Looked tired from kick off till the end.
Mauro Icardi – 5.5: Couldn’t get involved in our game and when he got a chance wasn’t clinical enough. Ran and closed down well but that’s all he did today.
Ever Banega – 5,5: He got 22 mins to show what he can do, but didn’t shine. His passes were good but the attackers couldn’t use them, needs more minutes.
Gabriel Barbosa – SV: Came on in injury time to a warm applause by the Curva, Great attitude! Needless yellow card but I’d like to believe it was to waste time.
Stefano Pioli – 6: The team continues to respond to Pioli. Apart from the last few minutes there was nothing to be unhappy about, Gabigol got minutes too!
Marco Di Bello – 6: He tried to let the game roll on and didn’t give any soft fouls. Booked players when it was necessary. He correctly sent Melo off as well.
Inter’s performance – 6,5: We carried over our mental strength from last week. Perfect set up and we looked calm and collected for 88 mins or so. Lets keep going!

I don’t know who writes those ratings, but sometimes they are very, very strange! Melo and Perisic have 5,5 and only God knows how Banega have 5,5 too! Same about Ansaldi, who did almost nothing, but have 6,5 as Joao Mario and Miranda for example! I’m sorry, but looks like we had watching two different games!!!
this ratings is so biased i stopped reading at melo
IMO Ansaldi is accurate but Melo should be higher
Melo 5.5? BULLSHIT! Just saw this, don’t read anything else.
If he didnt get red card it would be 7
Yet a 5.5 is way too harsh! And he did not take it in a “dying” moment! He got red carded at the 92 min!I mean he just him by a red card on the 92min and forgot the 91 mins before this red card!
and his cards aren’t deserved, it was fair challenges by him.
Melo got a red card at the end of the game. I’d say Melo was definetly one of the best on pitch. Just seeing Melo getting 5.5 is crazy..
Harsh rating on Melo considering the first yellow was a joke of a call.
Perisic, Icardi should be 4 & 5. Ansaldi a 5.5 tops.

why perisic 5.5 , it should be 1
If offer does come, and proper one, he can leave…loan Jojo to Fio plus some of his salary, use this so they will let Bernardeschi join us, he’s good and very aggressive.
For DMF, Melo is to risky, Medel add very little offensively, K-Dog doesn’t have the right characteristic, so if we have money, go for Biglia, he have all Melo’s positive attributes but more discipline and know how to deal with the referee without softening his play.
Ansaldi will grow in confidence, D’ambro is doing well as RCB and as long as Candreva works this hard then we not need to worry on the right side of defense.
We have too many players, those who i still haven’t mentioned such as Biabiany, Palacio, Santon and Rano should go.
Maybe not rano, as he still has something to offer. But santon, jovetic, biabiany, palacio, nagatomo may leave.
I’d keep Santon instead of Rano.
agreed with you, Santon more versatile, he can play as RB and LB and I believe his defensive ability way much better than Dumbo and Rano.
the best I can offer is 2.5.
I realy don’t like your ratings on Melo,Pioli & Icardi.Melo had a great game and got sent off at the 91st min i think you are a bit harsh giving him the same rating with Perisic!Icardi also assited the goal and putted huge pressure on Sassuolo’s deefence!Plus since the team’s performance is 6,5 Pioli’s rating should be atleast the same OR MORE!We took the 3 points & we saw a good game!
I think the Ratings should be Melo atleast 6(due to his red card but if it wasn’t for the red card he should have ATLEAST A 7!) brozovic 6,5-7!Icardi a 6-6,5!And Pioli deserves a 7+!Also Handanovic doesn’t deserve a 7 for two saves,we almost conceded a goal due to him being slow, thank god Miranda was there to kick it away!On players you don’t like you only point out the bad things they did in the game and you rate on that and on the players you like you only point out the good things they did on you rate both with that criteria!I mean 5.5 on Melo for the red card,7 on Handa for 2 saves,5.5 on Icardi for as you said”Not getting involved” even thought in the next sentence you say “Ran and closed down well but that’s all he did today”,he also assisted and he also putted huge pressure on the defence,He cannot score in every game!PLUS on Banega you say”.. but didn’t shine. His passes were good but the attackers couldn’t use them, needs more minutes.”that makes literaly no logic!I don;t want to sound harsh but should rate based on their performance ONLY and you need to be more neutral or else don;t do it!
People who complaining too much about Gabigol’s yellow card should read this for fuck sake:
Gabriel Barbosa – SV: Came on in injury time to a warm applause by the Curva, Great attitude! Needless yellow card but I’d like to believe it was to waste time.
Nice one from gabi,
