Inter gave up on appealing against Felipe Melo‘s two games suspension by the Sports Court after Sassuolo-Inter. Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the club accepted the decision because referee Di Bello‘s report stated that the Brazilian midfielder was sanctioned due to an ironic applause.

This is not good from Melo’s point of view
if Inter appeals this decision then clearly at the age of 33 Melo is part of inter’s rebuilding for next season. Sounds like he’s not going to be leaving in January ! It’s ok because it will be Banega riding the bench for him…..does that make sense at all ? well, that’s Inter !!!
Oooh,an ironic applause. I bet the ref still has PTSD flashbacks triggering whenever he hears someone clap, poor soul… That’s the stupidest sanction, forbidding someone to play in the next game cause he clapped. I wish the refs could be sanctioned to miss the next game if they fuck up and make mistakes.
