Globoesporte has shed some light on why the official announcement regarding Felipe Melo’s transfer to Palmeiras from Inter hasn’t been made.

According to the report, Inter have delayed sending the signed documents to Palmeiras. However, news has leaked as to the transfer itself. Globoesporte reveal that Inter will loan Melo to Palmeiras for the remainder of his contract, meaning for the rest of the remainder of his contract. The reason for this – Globoesporte reports – is that Inter want to avoid paying fines to the player for terminating his contract which could jeopardize the Financial Fair Play regulations improsed on the club. Every expense, could effect that balance sheet and so Inter want to be extra careful to avoid any unnecessary expenses.

Felipe Melo will on the other hand sign a contract with Palmeiras that runs until 2019 after having passed his medical examinations that is.
