Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Inter have contacted Roma regarding the possibility of signing Greek central defender Kostas Manolas.
According to the report, Inter see the 25-year old as an ideal signing given that he has already adapted very well to the Serie A. There has already been some indirect contacts taken between the parties as the Nerazzurri begin to work on their June shipping list already, during the January transfer window.

You obviously never watched Chivu play, he was one of the best defenders in Serie A during his prime! By the time he came to Inter he was already fading, and was truly never the same after his head injury.

He wasnt “faded” when he joined Inter, he was only 26 and the head injury was 2½ seasons after he joined…. Even before the headache he was hardly great.
He was mediocre for Inter at best and incredibly bad at worst. A walking brainfart.
Interesting.. with a username like Azzkikr, I’d assume you were born in the mid 90’s, not following Inter and Serie A since then! At Roma he was attracting the interest of Real Madrid and Barcelona before he opted to join Inter, and maybe “faded” wasn’t the right term, but Chivu had lost a slight step due to his many injuries, hence his move over to LB, where he was still one of the best in Serie A. To put Burdisso and Rannochia in the same class is ridiculous, even further to add Chivu to that mix is absolutely insane! He was our starting LB for the treble winning side, and in his prime would easily outclass all of our current defenders except for Miranda.
Its not insane since he shares the same illness as Ranocchia and Burdisso – being prone to insane brainfarts at times.
And he was never “one of the best lb’s”, he even failed at making the LB spot his own at Inter with Maxwell getting more minutes than him and Maxwell was mediocre at best.
Anyways, we obviously wont agree here. In my opinion Chivu was average at best pre-treble and a complete disaster post-treble.
He only played a lot in the treble season due to lack of alternatives. If he had played against Barca at San Siro instead of JZ at LB, messi surely had raped him.

I dont hate him, but its a fact that he made a massive amount of fuckups during his time at Inter and never lived up to the expectations.
