During a press conference, Argentina national team coach Edgardo Bauza was asked about Mauro Icardi following Diego Maradona’s critical statements recently about the Nerazzurri captain.
“We’re following 60 players in total and I have complete discretion over who I decide to call up. Both Icardi and Carlos Tevez are available to be picked. The door is very much open to Icardi to be a part of this group, if something happens to Higuain and Lucas Pratto he is next in line, and I’ve said this to Javier Zanetti.”
“I think it’s very probable that I’ll go and see him during my next trip to Europe. he knows perfectly well what I think about him. Maradona? He has always been a great defender of players even without the role of being an ambassador for football. I have always wished him the best” Bauza concludes.
