Argentina coach Edgardo Bauza made it clear that there weren’t alternate reasons for not calling up certain players to his Argentina squad.
“When I arrived at the helm of Argentina, I felt that I didn’t have to call up Tevez or Inter’s Mauro Icardi. I met with my players and asked them if they had a problem with it and they responded, ‘No, you pick who you want. We don’t have problems with anyone and, if there was a problem with someone, we’d resolve it among ourselves,’.”

Only way icardi ever gets called up is if thier FA hires a foreign coach. But that will probably never happen. and they probably wont win anything major until messi retires

I remember the Worldcup that Zenetti was not called up and the captain armband was handed to Sorin, or the one that Cambiasso at his peak was benched for Mascerano, and he was handed the captain armband. And we both remember what happened to Argentina in both of those Worldcups.
