Ferri: “On paper the next three games are favourable…”
Speaking exclusively to TMW Radio, Riccardo Ferri has addressed each of the hot topics around Inter at the moment.
He began by discussing Sunday night’s defeat in Turin: “It was a good match, and Inter proved that they have closed the gap in quality between themselves and Juventus, who remain unbeaten at home.”
Ferri then spoke of the sanctions faced by Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perišić: “It is a shame because they are two high quality players and form a very effective attack alongside Candreva. Palacio and Éder will be given a chance in what seem to be two favourable games versus Empoli and Bologna. The reactions were avoidable, but I was a player and I know that sometimes you lose control, as Icardi and Perišić did. However, Rizzoli’s refereeing was not up to standard.”
He concluded by talking about the injury suffered by Marcelo Brozović: “It is unfortunate. Even Milan have problems in this regard, missing important players at a crucial time of the year. However, Inter have options. In midfield, Kondogbia is performing well and can compensate for the loss of Brozović, who will want to recover as soon as possible. In an attacking sense, Palacio, Éder, Éver Banega, João Mário and Gabigol are all possible alternatives. Pioli, undoubtedly, has an important squad and has been able to rejuvenate players who had lost confidence in themselves.”
