Ronaldo could have began his career with São Paulo rather than Cruzeiro.
Earlier today, UOL Esporte published a document which shows that 50% of O Fenomeno’s economic rights were proposed to São Paulo for a mere $15,000.
However, the Brazilian club’s president José Eduardo Mequita Pimento was only willing to pay $7,500 and so the deal fell through.
Cruzeiro took full advantage of their hesitancy which led to one of the greatest champions in football history rising to fame in Belo Horizonte.
