Inter coach Stefano Pioli and his Empoli counterpart Giovanni Martusciello have decided to start today’s Serie A fixture between their respective sides with the following 22-players at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

How would u feel If he’s replaced by simeone at the end of the season? the reason might be something like he flopped in his second season with lazio and the management dont wanna take that risk.
Would be a stupid move – Pioli has clearly created a superb report with the players and everyone seems to trust him 100% so why change? Simeone has a great name and more experience in Europe true, and maybe he has more charisma on the bench as well but he IS a foreigner, who will need time to get to know the players, and to get into everything in Italy again – and we simply can’t wait for yet another foreigner to adjust!
If Simeone was available (which he wont be), then obviously the club should do whatever it takes to get him. Pioli was always meant only to be a transition coach.
If the chance for a world class coach arrives, ofcourse it should be banked on.
Piolo has had a positive effect for sure. But lets not forget that 7/9 wins under Pioli has been against bottom table teams and the 2 wins against Fio and Lazio were home games.
Chelsea already did that. They took two different decision to Avram and Roberto, but the result was the same. So, there’s also no guarantee if Simione will success.
If you want guarantee, buy toaster.
The probability of having success improves with getting someone like Simeone however.
Nah. There’s no correlation between big name and trophy. That’s why I give Chelsea as an example. They release Avram Grant to get hotter name. Unfortunately, it didn’t bring something good to them. Next, maybe they learn from past experience and make Di Mateo as permanent coach. Alas, they got same result.
I can give you no name coaches who win big trophy as many as big name coaches.
I didn’t say I oppose that idea but I just want to see more stability at Inter, in the management, youngster development, branding, marketing, stadium, etc.
I want to see Inter who can challenge for any championship in 10 or more years, like MU, Madrid, and Bayern.
If Pioli were in charge of inter from the start of the season, we would have been on 2nd place by now
I was largely unimpressed with the attack today actually.
No less than 37 crosses made confirms an utterly predictable attacking
phase that severly lacks creativity. But with JM having a complete
offday (worst player after dumbo&ansaldi) that was to be expected
considering kondo and Gagli offers very little in that department.
Luckily Empoli are pretty awful, but against any decent team we would
never have been able to score with such a pedestrian attacking approach.
Well if you don’t know, ‘crosses’ don’t only mean those crosses into the box the the head of somebody. The switchings of flanks which is detrimental to our attack to spread their defence also count as crosses. Example, the Eder’s cross to Candreva in the build up to the first goal.
Nice to see Kondogbia performing so good under Pioli. Now he is showing his potential and why we bought him. Great partnership we have on him and Gagliardini. So many ppl here hated on him and wanted to sell him…

We won yes but we need to grow as a top team. I am happy with the win but not the overall play at all.we need to maul these teams and we could have. But I saw we got comfortable in the first half. All said good win let’s keep winning.

Good game for Inter, had it locked down pretty much the whole game. What I liked the most about this game is that even with Icardi, Perišić, Brozović and Banega all unavailable, we still had a fluid build up play and attack(even if only against Empoli). Palacio had a great game, his physical ability may be worse than a few years ago but his skill is still present. Great game by Eder too, MOTM for me. Medel is amazing as a CB, we really should play him there more often. Maybe 3-man defense together with Miranda and Murillo is the answer. Handanović as usually had a great game. Pioli set us up with good tactics and his subs were good, I was really glad to see Gabigol and Pinamonti play. Game could’ve been like 5-0 if it wasn’t for some really good saves by Skorupski. Good game overall, 3 points as expected and back to winning ways. Perišić is back next game so that will help.
On the other games, Torino from 5-0 to 5-3 in 3 minutes lol. As much as their attack is dangerous, their defense is really leaky. Does anyone know what happened in the Sassuolo game, how did they get red carded in 3rd minute?

I don’t understand and don’t like D’Ambrosio as a part of the midfield against Empoli at home. I don’t like Palacio as a starter, I’m sorry he’s being giving a lot in the past, but now he’s not at our level.
Candreva continues with his mediocre performances, despite the goal and don’t understand what supposed to happen to sit on the bench?
If you can’t try Gabriel against Empoli at home, even when we’re missing Icardi, Perisic, Banega and Brosovic, I’m concerned that he will never will.
I’m continue to repeat that Joao Mario is not trequartista, but box to box midfielder. And when we play with him as trequartista and Kondogbia plus Gagliardini, which are great midfielders, but theirs strengths are more in defensive phase and can’t add much in attack, we start looking sluggish and clueless in attack most of the time with hundreds crosses and slow side or back passes.
very different players right; one is a box striker, big and tall – a born finisher it seems, the other is a second striker who loves to do trickery with the ball…they could work very well together in the future!

Gabigol’s desire to perform is really nice. It’s basically how Milan got their hot streak in the first half of the season, playing on youngster’s desire to perform.
