The President of the Italiqn referee association Marcello Nicchi was a guest late last night on RAI show Domenica Sportiva discussing the recent controversy regarding Nicola Rizzoli.
Speaking about the challenge on D’Ambrosio by Lichtsteiner Nicchi stated: “If you can find anyone to give you a penalty for that, I say keep him. Chiellini’s backpass? The ball was on the right place and all still when Alex Sandro started the play and Chillini wasn’t observing and gave a bad pass… There wasn’t any protests or cards so the could play the ball when ever they wanted so there wasn’t a single thing Rizzoli could blow for! And for that judgement I can say the ball was moving a lot when Chillini started the play for the second time!
