Former Inter midfielder Luis Figo spoke at Laureus Awards in Monte Carlo and had some words on Inter:
He spoke first on the Inter-Juventus rivalry: “The rivalry must always be wholesome and sporty. There must be more and sporting values, no one likes to lose and of course when that happens it hurts, it is painful for those who are not first in the standings. Juventus in recent years are doing their job, they are having the ‘monopoly of victories in Italy, and Inter must only work to change this situation.”
He then spoke on compatriot Joao Mario: “I follow the results of Inter and they have recovered in the standings. With Pioli they are doing very well they’ve had a good set of results. Joao Mario has great potential, he is a player with a lot of quality, which can improve year after year. He is definitely a great professional, he will give many joys to the fans of Inter.”
He concluded speaking about Suning: “Suning? There will be more investment to strengthen the team and to return to winning ways and to cope with the Juventus who’ve been dominating the Serie A in recent years.”
