Meanwhile, João Mário is likely to start in a deep-lying midfield position alongside Roberto Gagliardini as both Marcelo Brozović and Geoffrey Kondogbia are serious doubts for the match.

I think Banega is too poor defensively to start vs Roma who has a strong midfield going forward. Need to have 3 midfielders who can properly close down in midfield.
If Kondogbia is out, then hopefully Brozovic can make it back to partner Gaglia with JM in front of them.

Kondogbia is perfectly fine,a little fever ,which is probably already gone.
I think a midfield Kondo-Gaglia with Banega as a trequartista makes sense,the duo Kondo-Gaglia is defensively stable enough.

Yep ansaldi would seem like the smart choice but his physical problems all year concern me when he has to keep up with Salah, especially since Yogatomo has proven he can keep MoSa quiet… then again I wouldn’t mind seeing dambrosio on the left, Murillo on the right and Andreolli in the center w Gary to shore up the defense so the midfield can express themselves…
Kondogbia if he has a slight fever may not be 100%… not ideal against ddr, stroot, and naing: arguably the best midfield in Série A if not top 3 midfields in Europe.
InterAmore lineup seems the most likely, the most important is that We play a high line so Gary and Jeison can use their pace/pressing.
