Inter and Roma coaches Stefano Pioli and Luciano Spalletti have decided to start with the following 22 players when the Nerazzurri host the Giallorossi in tonight’s Serie A fixture at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.

strange formation, brozovic lost everything in this match. terrible tackle and bad mark by medel, but the rest is done very good by him. and again candreva always lost his mind in big match. poor intercept by gaglia and d’ambrosio cost us 2 goal, but medel also involved too. our midfield was too slow when build up the play and pass. that’s all

We played like a fucking coward. This was clearly Pioli’s mistake. He forced many players to play out of positions. No wonder, Gagliardini and K-Dog failed to handle Nainggolan thus we lost the midfield battle easily because many players were confused about their tasks and positions.
I’m afraid to say this but Pioli does not have a big game winning mentality. He lost the match against Napoli, Rubentus, Lazio and now Roma. At best we will only get Europa league, no way we can qualify to CL.
Totally agree. That’s why I would welcome simeone even if lets say pioli does good this season. But pioli doesnt have winning mentality it reflects on our match against big teams.
Actually, Roma’s defense isn’t that great but Pioli was so afraid that he put Candreva and Perisic to help the defense. Joao Mario and Broz were also out of positions. And D’ambrosio bad positioning made things even complicated. This a wrong mentality. We will not go further if we keep losing against direct competitors. And I’m pretty sure the chinese management was not satisfied at all tonight.

In my previous comment, I said that Nainggolan is an A list player. I was wrong. He is currently the best midfielder in Serie-A.

To reache the level of ROma, Juve and Napoli we need new full backs(Rodriguez +??), a class act defender (Manolas+Acerbi), A number 10 to direct attack like Roma have in Naig. and Napoli in Hamsik (James) and two class act second strikers to support Icardi who always seems isolated (Bernardescchi+Sanchez).

When every single player underperforms and none of defense, midfield or attack is functioning, then there is something wrong with the tactical approach from the coach.

The penalty was a clear penalty, Medel went in for Dzeko and not the ball.
Icardi missed that opportunity when he got the ball in the first 10 minutes of the match, and then in the second half the one he hit bad with his left leg. Our wingers were a disaster, not to mention Brozovic which was horror, idk why Pioli put him in the first place when he’s not fully healthy, even healthy Brozovic is pretty average.
Actually the whole lineup was wrong, it didn’t work at all. Pioli should have thought this better.

We lack good defenders, and need some quality on the wings. Defence is the key to success and we don’t have that . And yes we played poorly but we deserved atleast one penalty kick. But we never get them, do you know why? Because we are Inter. We even have a negative Balance with Penaltys for and against in the past 6 years lol..

And regarding to you saying that perhaps the outcome would have been different is just ifs and ifs. Yes the Eder’s one was a penalty but by the way we were playing it wouldn’t have changed anything, perhaps a draw which is as good as a loss.

I agree with you its not the ref, not the player, but the formation which is provenly is not fit against 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. Thats basically why we played so awfully, headless, no vision, and so on

You must be a pure amateur not to know that goalkeepers start excelling from 27-28 and above. Because it is a position that requires maturity and experience, and goalkeepers have a higher average age of playing football than field players. Handa has at least 6 years in this kind of form he is more or less.

We need to face facts and relax at the same time. Our team lack maturity it was seen against juve jive and again today. We just can’t manage games point blank.
Inter played poorly and got the result it deserved. Be honest. Referee did not help but not all his fault. Many games left to be played and 2 months ago we never thought this game would even matter. So we are getting better but there is a huge gap between top 3 and the next 4-5 teams.
We played poorly, knew the match wouldn’t go well when I saw we’re playing 3-4-2-1. Pioli’s setup wasn’t good and the only thing I hate about Pioli right now is him forcing this formation. Just play 4-2-3-1 which has been shown to be by far our best setup. Some shocking calls by the ref, mostly for both sides, but the big one was where we were denied a pen yet again with the Strootman kick on Eder that was 100% penalty (anyone ,no matter who you support, can confirm it if he/she watched the replay). The game could’ve gone better for us with such calls being correct, but it’s not the reason why we lost, we played bad most of the time and Roma deserved to win so don’t start the whole »Inter loser mentality« shit again, I’m just mentioning it. Nainggolan was just out of this world… CL seems like far away now, but with Atalanta, Lazio, Milan and even Fiorentina pushing we must first manage to qualify for EL, then worry about bigger goals.

Nothing wrong with the formation bro. Roma didn’t torment us to be honest they won through 2 wonder goals imo. Don’t want to talk about the ref although he wasn’t good I also believe if we play and take or chances we could then argue when it comes down to a close match which wasn’t the case today. As I said before we cannot mange games plus or decision making is very poor not to mention #87. Don’t want to call his name it makes me angry!
The formation isn’t only about the defense, we had no identity, play style or direction in the midfield or attack. When in 4-2-3-1, we have some sense on how to attack and proceed, we just looked lost here.
It is fact when we play 4 at the back we conceded more and today Sala would have had a happy meal with pour fullback. We weren’t horrible in defense. It’s the mid and attack that didn’t play well. Roma looked dangerous without being dangerous. Candreva doesn’t want to play in this formation for sure. He along with majority of the team decision making is very poor.
And the team not working was the fault of the formation. It’s not just about making defense tight but having a balanced setup. Otherwise we might as well deploy 9 centerbacks and Icardi and say “defense was pretty solid”. The fact is that we suffered because of this setup.
I still disagree bro. Although I see where you are coming from I have to stick to my guns here. Since juve we played with this formation sorta kinda and have been successful. Fewer goals conceded, not having our goal pounded with Handa working his magic over and over. To me we are more balanced than before and no one who watched the game can say Roma had plenty goal scoring chances and we didn’t . Other than two wonderful goals by an informed player which by the way, neither goal was because of brilliant team play from Roma this game would have drawn. It’s like the juve game a brilliant individual goal or in this case goals made the difference. We didn’t play like we know how but we can’t blame the formation just because we lost. Playing with or fullback sucks and the coach knows this and we all do to. Imo Brozo killed our attack he was lost. Benaga would have been a better choice and that’s where we fell short.
