Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter have reassured Stefano Pioli of his position as manager after rumours about his future began to surface after the defeat to Roma. It is believed that finishing in a Champions League spot is the only thing that could keep Pioli in the job next season. Both Diego Simeone and Antonio Conte are concrete options for the Nerazzurri should they opt to part ways with the former Lazio coach.

I think if an opportunity to get a top coach arises, we shouldnt miss it. I love Pioli for his sincerity for Inter, but with the ambitious project of sunning next season. A high rated coach is needed to handle the superstars.

Wow seriously? De boer lost us many points against small teams, Pioli come and set right away with the team, why not give him a chance? Also simeone said he will stay in atletico until his contract end. As for conte, he is about to winning premier league in his first season, i doubt he will go back to italy, he might want to try to win a champions league trophy next year.

Besides Frank de Boer fucked our season up, now 3 months under Pioli we have lost 3 games all against the must better teams Napoli, Juve and Roma which I dont’ blame him, our squad simply doesn’t match them, yet!

If Roma wins the EL then Italy would only get an extra CL spot if Roma ends up outside the top 3. Which they obviously wont.

Pioli was always meant to be a short term solution until a top coach can come.
If that can happen in the summer already then Pioli has to go, regardless if he reaches the CL or not, because it would be idiotic to miss out on a getting a top coach if one is available.
On the other hand, if no top coach is available in the summer, then it would be pointless to get rid of Pioli even if he doesnt reach the CL.
Its extremely unlikely that Inter will finish in a CL spot, but i hope Pioli wont be sacked to bring in a new random coach. It should be a top coach or else stick with Pioli and that should be regardless if Pioli reaches the CL or not.
There was only a very slim chance for Pioli to reach CL to begin with, but the last defeat against Roma means CL is definitely over now. We must aim for 4th spot now.

In the other hand we have another game at home against Napoli.
If we win against Milan,Fiorentina and Napoli the CL spot is ours.
Also Napoli has still chances in the Champions League against Real Madrid and in the Coppa Italia.
We have only the league.
We must win the other 12 finals left, and if we beat Napoli at San Siro, Inter could only need 10 victories over these 12 games, because I am sure Napoli will lose against Roma and Juventus, and also has to play just like us against Lazio,Milan, Fiorentina etc.

Yeah mathematically it’s not impossible but highly unlikely. And Napoli is a very good team, do not underestimate them.

Napoli is 6 points away and they face Roma next weekend after a very difficult game today against Juve (one of two hard games in the Coppa), and we also have a home game against Napoli and no European games to think about – Napoli have the return game against Real to think about! They have so many hard games this month that differently will tire the players out and seeing that Sarri almost never rotates the squad we still stand a small chance (and so do Lazio!)
The only way for us to reach CL now is if we win 10-11 out 12 games. I am a fan and I’ll be rooting for us but I dont wanna to get my hopes too high.
Losing against all the top teams just confirms why they are above us.

I saw Napoli play against Atalanta at home and they seem very tired and didn’t create much…. hopefully they are getting tired – hopefully!
